The following posts are to be filled purely on temporary basis from willing eligible candidates for the below mentioned projects implemented by this institute as detailed thereon.

VENUES:

1. Name of the post Project Scientist B (Non-Medical)

Name of the Project

An innovative approach for engaging student and women organisations to improve tuberculosis case finding and treatment adherence: a step towards tuberculosis elimination programme in Senapati district, Manipur

Essential qualification

1st Class Master’s degree in Health Science/Life Science/Social Science from a recognized University with 2 years experience in related field.

2nd Class Master’s Degree in Health Science/Life Science/Social Science with Ph.D from a recognized University.

1. Doctorate in relevant subject from a recognized university.

2. Additional Post-doctoral research experience in relevant subjects in recognized Institute(s)

3. Prior experienced in managing projects in recognized institute especially on health.

Desirable Qualification

4. Candidates with proven scientific writing skills & good communication skills in English as evidenced by publications either as Primary or Corresponding Author in peer reviewed international journals will be preferred.

5. Working Knowledge of Statistical Packages like SPSS/STATA/R

6. Know local languages like Maram, Mao, Poumai, Zeliangrong or Manipuri/Hindi

7. Willing to work at odd hours based on the requirement of the project.

8. Willing to travel extensively within the district.

OR

Nature of Duties

1. Field Coordination of the project i.e. Planning, Managing and implementation of the project.

2. To coordinate with the student and women organization leaders and District NTEP staff in carrying out the activities

3. To help in training the volunteers for carrying out the ACF activities

4. Travelling from village to village for data collection and also to help in monitoring and evaluation of the project.

5. Will be responsible for analyzing the data and report writing To help in drafting out the manuscript for publication

6. Any other work assigned by the Director/PI

Age limit

Not exceeding 35 years.

Emoluments Consolidated salaryRs.48,000/- + HRA Rs.6,300/- p.m.

Graduate in Health Science/Life Science/Social Science/ from a recognized university with three years work experience from a recognized Institution.

OR

Master’s degree in Health Science/Life Science/Social Science subjects.

1. Master / Doctorate in relevant subject from a recognized university.

2. Prior experience in managing projects/working experience in recognized institute especially on health.

Desirable Qualification

3. Name of the post Project Technician III (Lab Technician)

1. Two years diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician or PMW OR

Essential qualification

2. One year DMLT plus one year required experience in a recognized organization. OR

3. Two years field/laboratory experience* in a Govt. recognized organization.

*B.Sc. degree shall be treated as 3 years experience.

1. Past experience of working in DTC laboratory/Intermediate Reference Laboratory/ National Reference Laboratory for Tuberculosis/ recognized Private laboratory

Desirable Qualification

2. Experience in handling CBNAAT and TrueNat

3. Willing to work at odd hours based on the project requirement.

4. Preference will be given to local people.

Nature of Duties

Age limit

1. Safe handling and transportation of all sputum specimens received from volunteers

2. Undertake field activities to monitor sputum collection and ensure quality of sputum collected in the field

3. Inform and coordinate the Survey Team & local DTO & STLS about the instances of leakage, contaminations etc. suggesting action e.g. Repeat sample collection

4. Data entry of sputum details received with IDs

5. Perform processing of all received sputum from the survey sites and conduct test as per usual NTEP Lab. SOPs

6. Any other work assigned by the Director/PI

4. Name of the post Senior Project Assistant (UDC)

12th pass or equivalent from a recognized board with 5 years’ experience of administrative work.

OR

Essential Qualification

Graduate in any discipline with 2 years experience of administration work.

AND

A speed test of not less than 8000 key depressions per hour (kdph) on computer.

1. Will be responsible for Accounting and Fund maintenance.

2. Maintenance-accounting system for recording expenses and requesting and funding.

Nature of Duties

3. Will also be responsible for all indents placed and purchased, financial matters, staff contracts, preparing and submitting financial reports and invoices on a regular basis to the budget administrator.

4. Ensure timely hiring and purchasing items from local market for smooth program operations.

5. Maintain books of accounts for all expenditure as required.

6. Ensure timely approval and payments against the approved expenditure. Any other duties assigned by the study PI for study conduct.

Age limit

Not exceeding 28 years.

INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES:

1. The Candidates should bring filled application form in the prescribed format which can be downloaded from websites www.nirt.res.in, www.icmr.nic.in at ICMR-National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis, No.1, Mayor Sathyamoorthy Road, Chetpet, Chennai 600031 or District Tuberculosis Centre, Old District Hospital, Senapati District, Manipur- 795106 along with self-attested copies ofallcredentials in support ofeducational qualifications, age, caste/community and affixing a colour passport size photograph on the application form while reporting for walk-in written test/interview on the date and time mentioned above. Original Certificates of all these credentials should also be carried with for verification.

2. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification does not guarantee the selection

3. For reserved category posts, candidates must produce their latest Caste Validity Certificate. OBC candidates must possess a latest valid non-creamy layer certificate. PWD candidates shall produce latest disability certificate issued by a Medical board of Government hospital with not less than 40% disability.

4. Age relaxation is admissible in respect of SC/ST/OBC candidates, Retrenched Government Employees, Departmental Candidates (including projects) and Ex-Servicemen in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government from time to time. Ageconcession to the extent of service rendered in other ICMR research projects will also be admissible for experienced and skilled persons.

5. Experience certificate should clearly state the nature of work during the period of employment.

6. No-Objection Certificate from the current employer (for Govt./AB/PSU Servants only).

7. All posts are Contractual for the duration offered. The engagement may be renewed after every specific period of time subject to satisfactory performance and project requirement.

8. The incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments under NIRT/ICMR or continuation of his/her services in any other project.

9. TA/DA will not be paid by NIRT for attending the written test/ interview.

10. The Director, ICMR-NIRT reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts or cancel the recruitment or re-advertise the posts, without assigning any reasons thereof, no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

11. Any further information may be downloaded from ICMR-NIRT website which will be updated from time to time.

12. Date of Walk-in written test/Interview may be changed due to administrative reasons, hence, candidates are advised to check website before appearing for walk-in written test/interview.

The Director /Selection Committee has the right to accept / reject any application without assigning any reason thereof

Canvassing and bringing pressure in any form for short listing, interview and employment will be a disqualification and barred from selection process.
