Applications are invited for the posts of Research Fellow position in the following project under the supervision of Dr. R. Rajaram, Assistant Professor and Principle Investigator, Department of Marine Science, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli – 620 024.

Title of the Project: “Quantification and impact of microplastics in environmental and seafood samples of industrially polluted Cuddalore coast, East coast of Tamil Nadu”. The project seeks to conduct a field study in Cuddalore coast for collection of environmental and seafood samples and aimed to quantify the micro-plastics load and its impact on environment. The project will also characterize the micro-plastics using deferent microscopic and molecular techniques.

Funding Agency: Tamilnadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST), DOTE Campus, Chennai – 600 025 No. of Post: One Research Fellow Essential Qualification: M.Sc. or M.Phil Degree in Marine Science / Marine Biology / Oceanography / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Environmental Science / Zoology.

Desirable Qualification: Experience in Marine environmental and biological sample collection, storage, processing and analysis of microplastics.

Fellowship: Rs. 10,000/- pm for the period of two years.
