Research Associate Position in Plant Functional Genomics
At the Repository of Tomato Genomics Resources, we are working on Tomato Functional Genomics, using WGS, TILLING, Insertional Mutagenesis, NGS, genome editing, proteomics and metabolomics approaches to study fruit ripening in tomato (http://uohyd.ac.in/images/index.html). The current aims of the group include using reverse and forward genetics strategies to isolate tomato mutants delayed in ripening, having high lycopene and folate content in tomato fruits and analysis of light and hormonal signal transduction pathways. We also conduct Annual Training Workshop on TILLING and Genome Editing. Currently we have a Research Associate position available for TILLING in Grain Amaranth awarded to Prof. R.P. Sharma funded by Department of Biotechnology as a part of Network with IISER, Tirupati and ABAB, Bangalore. DBT Project. “Non-transgenic crop improvement of grain amaranth (A. hypochandriacus) for determinate growth, enhanced seed yield and oil by establishment of TILLING by sequencing platform ” Research Associate: – (1 position): Applicants should have PhD degree in plant molecular biology. The candidate should also have research publications in molecular biology. We are looking for a candidate who can handle Next Gen Sequencing and DsDNA analyzer for TILLING. The experience in mutagenesis, crossing/backcrossing and maintaining mutant lines is desirable. The applications for research associate without PhD and publications in above discipline will be rejected. Selected candidate would be paid Rs. 47,000+30% HRA.
