(An Autonomous Institution of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India) Chandrabani, Dehra Dun - 248002, India EPBAX: 0135-2640114 and 2640115, FAX: 2640117 Website: www.wii.gov.in,Email: pka@wii.gov.in Contractual Engagement of Personnel for Elephant Cell at Wildlife Institute of India The Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India has established an “Elephant Cell” at the Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehradun to cater to the need of imparting inclusive field-oriented training to the managers and frontline staff of Elephant Reserves in India to enhance their capacities for managing the elephant habitats, populations and other related issues. Besides, the elephant cell also intends to create an elephant knowledge database so that decision making and advisory role can be further improved and strengthened. The Institute plans to engage various personnel (Indian national only) to fulfill the mandate of the Elephant Cell. All engagements are purely on a contractual basis, initially for 9-months period from the date of engagement that can be extended for further period(s) depending on the candidate’s performance, program needs and subject to funding. The number of positions, work description, essential and desirable qualifications, age limit and the consolidated monthly emoluments are given in Annexure I. Method of Selection The selection will be made on the basis of online written test followed by personal interview. Candidates should submit their applications online as per details/link given on the Institute’s website www.wii.gov.in on or before 7.06.2019. Application fees of Rs. 500 will have to be deposited online for each application. Payment can be made via Internet Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card through our online secured payment gateway. The date of written examination is 24 June, 2019 at 1000 hrs and personal interview will start on 25 June, 2019 at 1000 hrs which may continue up to 26 June, 2019. The Admit Card issued to eligible candidates would provide the details of the examination centre at Dehradun. The online written test will be held at Dehradun and the personal interview will be conducted at the WII campus in Dehradun. No TA/DA will be given for attending the written test and the personal interview. For the personal interview, the short listed candidates should bring the duly filled-in application with attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications, research experience, Ph.D. thesis, if any, along with certificate of extracurricular activities, date of birth, mark sheets of all examinations etc. All original documents/certificates must be produced at the time of personal interview for verification. The online written test will be of one-hour duration with 60 objective type questions of one mark each (Total 60 marks) covering (a) General Awareness and (b) Wildlife Conservation as per WII’s M.Sc. Wildlife Science course (http://www.wii.gov.in/protected_download/pdf/xiii_msc_syllabus) with specific reference to mega herbivores and elephant ecology. This will be followed by a personal interview of 40
