The process of selection of Project Fellows will include 1.5 hrs of written test followed by Interview on 13 August, 2018. Project 1: Ecological responses of flora and fauna to climate change in the TransHimalayan landscape with special reference to vulnerability and adaptations - GoIGEF-UNDP Third NATCOM Project Funding agency: UNDP and Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Requirement: Three (3) JPFs purely on contractual basis for a period of ONE YEAR Ladakh, J&K and Himachal Pradesh Location of Project site Post Graduate Degree in Botany/Forestry/Environmental Science/Wildlife Science/Life sciences with 60% marks Research experience on Floristic/Ecological surveys/Climate change/RS &GIS related studies in western Himalaya Understand the effect of climatic variability on grazing Work description grounds for wild and domestic ungulates – Resource dispersion and availability, interrelationship between the productivity and forage dependence by ungulates (wild and domestic) – Resource Utilization and Specificity and the nature of vulnerability to climate change adaptation by the local pastoral communities – Livelihood and Natural resource dependence vis a vis vulnerability Project 2: Assessment of Climate Change Impacts on Soil Health through Microbial and Plant Communities in Alpine Ecosystems of Indian Himalayan Region- GoIGEF-UNDP Third NATCOM Project Essential Qualification (EQ) Desirable Qualification (DQ)
