M S Swaminathan Research Foundation is inviting applications for the position of Project Associate The M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) was established in 1988 as a notfor-profit trust. MSSRF was envisioned and founded by Professor M. S. Swaminathan. The Foundation aims to accelerate use of modern science for agricultural and rural development for development and dissemination of technology to improve lives and livelihoods of tribal and rural communities. MSSRF follows a pro-poor, pro-women and pro-nature approach and applies appropriate science and technology options to address practical problems faced by rural populations in agriculture, food and nutrition. Post-Graduation in Environmental sciences/Agriculture/ Botany/ or related subjects.
Desirable Qualification
Experience in handling science education programmes / Research experience in the field of environment/biodiversity/ climate change
Roles & Responsibilities
The incumbent will need to coordinate environmental education programmes in selected schools in Wayanad district. The responsibilities include coordination of educational activities, monitoring of automated weather stations (3), collection and tabulation of weather data, capacity building of students in attending science events and conduct classes/camps and field visits for students It is essential the incumbent should have proficiency in local language – will be able to understand, read and write Malayalam as he/she has to work with the local people. Knowledge of English is required as the project involves preparation of reports, data collection and interacting with staff of MSSRF at various levels.
