Walk–in-Interview for 01 no. of Junior Research Fellow will be conducted at ICARIISWC, Research Centre, Theettukkal, Fernhill (PO), Udhagamandalam (Ooty) -643 004 under the DST funded project on “Biochar for Acid Soil Improvement and Climate Change Mitigation in Temperate Ecosystem”. The project duration is up to 31st March, 2022 and the position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. Selection order will be issued for first one year and the continuance in second and third year is subjected to the satisfactory performance of the candidate.

Junior Research Fellow (One post): Age limit: 18-35 years (Age relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST/ and women candidate as per govt. guidelines).

Essential qualifications: Master's degree in Soil Science/Agronomy/Horticulture/ Environmental Science/Nano science /life sciences from the recognized university/institutions with 4/5 years of basic degree. Candidate having 3 years of bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree must have NET (National Eligibility Test) qualification (As per ICAR memorandum F.No. Edn./6/27 /20I4/HRD Dated 13.07.2015 and F.No. Agril. Edn.6/27/2014-HRD Dated 09. 10.2015).

Desirable: Experience in field experiment, soil and plant analyses, acid soil, climate studies, handling analytical instruments and working knowledge in computer modeling.

Remuneration: Rs.25000/- pm + HRA for the initial 2 years and in 3rd year JRF will be awarded as SRF with Rs. 28000/- pm +HRA after reviewing the performance of the candidate by the review committee.

8. The selected candidate for the above positions should have good health. He/She has to be stationed at Project site (Udhagamandalam). However, the selected candidates may have to visit any place in India, if need arises.
