General/Minimum Qualifications for the post Assistant Professor to be filled as per UGC Norms & Govt. Of Maharashtra Resolution no. Misc- 2018/C.R. UNI-1. dated08.03.2019 Special Notes i.

The minimum qualifications required for the post of Assistant Professor shall be as specified by the UGC in its regulations and accepted by State Government time to time.

ii.

A relaxation of 5% shall be allowed at the Bachelor’s as well the Master’s level for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Cast / Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward classes (OBC) (Non- Creamy layer )/Differently abled (a)Blindness and low vision; (b) Deaf and Hard of Hearing : (c) Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid-attack , acid- attack victims and muscular dystrophy;(d)Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness (e) Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under (a) to (d) including deaf- blindness for the purpose eligibility and assessing good academic record for direct recruitment. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based only on the qualifying marks without including any grace marks procedure.

iii. A relaxation of 5% shall be provided, (from 55% to 50% of the marks) to the Ph.D. Degree holders who have obtained their master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991. iv. Relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55%, wherever the grading system is followed by a recognized university, at the Master’s level shall also be considered valid.

v. The Ph.D. Degree shall be a mandatory qualification for appointment to the post of Associate Professor. vi. The time taken by

candidates to acquire M.Phil. and / or Ph.D Degree shall not be

considered as teaching / research experience to be claimed for appointment to the teaching positions. Regular faculty members up to twenty per cent of the total faculty strength (excluding faculty on medical / maternity leave) shall be allowed by their respective institutions to take study leave for pursuing Ph.DDegree. vii. *Provided

registered

for

the

M.Phil/Ph.DProgramme prior to 11th July, 2009 shall be govern by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bylaws/Regulations of the institutions awarding the degree and the Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for the recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/College/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions. a) Ph.D. Degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only. b) Evaluation of Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners. c) Open Ph.D. Viva-voce of the candidate had been conducted. d) Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one must be in a referred journal. e) Candidate has made at least two presentations in conferences/seminars, based on his/her Ph.D. work. *(a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Vice-Chancellor/ Pro-Vice-Chancellor/ Dean (Academic Affairs)/Dean (University instructions). viii.

Candidates belonging to the reserved categories as recognized in the State of Maharashtra shall only be considered under reserved categories. The candidate belonging to the reserved categories form outside the State of Maharashtra will be treated as Open. Those candidates should be apply for open category only.

ix. Reservation for women and persons with disabilities, etc., will be as per the norms of Government of Maharashtra. x. For reserved posts, candidates belonging to the concerned reserved category only should apply.

xi. Candidates are requested to refer University website from time to time as all information and circulars will be notified on the website by the University. The University will not entertain any inquiry regarding eligibility criteria. xii. The reservation mentioned in the advertisement is subject to verification of Roster by the competent authority. The number of posts advertised may vary after verification of the Roster. The University reserved all rights not to fill some or all the post advertised and to change the number of posts advertised and/or reservation. The decision of the appointing authority will be final and binding on applicants and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. xiii.

The selection process and the appointments are subject to the outcome of writ petition No. 12051/2015, Maharashtra All Bahujan Teachers Association v/s State of Maharashtra and other field in the court of judicature at Bombay, Bench at Aurangabad.
