LEPRA works in collaborations with the Government and other funding agencies to reach into most inaccessible villages of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh states.

About Project: The Blue Peter Public Health and Research Centre (BPHRC) was established from the funds raised by a BBC television show for children, ‘Blue Peter’. It is a nodal research centre towards implementing organisation strategic research areas Leprosy, Tuberculosis (TB) and, Lymphatic Filariasis.

The BPHRC functions in line with the above strategic aim of the LS with a clinic and two laboratories (immunology and molecular biology, Microbiology) as core components within the center. The BPHRC brings uniqueness to LEPRA Society as an NGO with a centrally located laboratory that works closely with clinics and outreach programme across multiple regions in India endemic to leprosy, TB and LF. Position : Research Assistant- ICMR project: LEPRA Society is implementing a ICMR project on Molecular characterization of microbial flora and signature metabolites with reference to clinical outcome of infected chronic foot ulcers in leprosy and diabetes.

Technical /Area of Expertise: Microbiological procedures, Sample processing for Microbiome, Bioinformatics, Indent, Purchasing lab consumables, Maintenance of stock books, Literature Reviews, Progress Report writing for Scientific Reports.

Period: Initial appointment is about 1 year & based on the performance position will be extended upto 3 years or project period.

Education qualification required: MSc., Microbiology/Biotechnology or Life Science with related experience.

Skills required: Microbiological procedures, Nucleic acid extraction, PCR, Real time PCR, Bioinformatics.

Remunerations: Rs. 31,000/- per month Location: BPHRC , Cherlapally, Hyderabad

The selected candidate will be posted at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus.

--Technical /Area of Expertise: Expertise in HPLC and Mass spectrometry for biochemical analysis of metabolites, bioinformatics, metabolomics, microbiological procedures, sample processing, experience in Indenting, Purchasing lab consumables, Maintenance of stock books, Literature Reviews, Progress Report writing, Scientific Report writing.

--Period: Initial appointment is about 1 year & based on the performance position will be extended upto 3 years or project period.

--Education qualification required: MSc., Chemistry/Biochemistry/Biotechnology or Life Science with related experience.

Skills required: Biochemical analysis utilizing HPLC, Mass spectrometry, metabolite analysis, bioinformatics to study metabolites.
