Advt. No. 18/2019/Acad Walk-in Interview for IYBA Project-JRF position Title of the project: “Disruption of genome integrity to create genetic variability by editing (using CRISPR-CAS9) the genes associate with DNA mismatch repair and characterization of their relevance in crop improvement�.

Duration: Up to 1 year and can be extended depending on performance Essential qualifications: M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences/ Biotechnology with NET (CSIR, ARS), GATE, qualification and minimum 60% marks in qualifying exams. Practical knowledge of plant tissue culture, basic molecular biology techniques including nucleic acid extraction, cloning, gene editing and gene expression analysis in plant systems is essential.

Desired qualifications: Practical knowledge of plant tissue culture, transformation, molecular biology techniques (DNA, RNA and plasmid isolation, PCR and molecular cloning, gene editing) are necessary. Candidate who has experience of working on rice tissue culture, transformationand knowledge on DNA damage and repair will be preferred but not necessary.
