i. Before submission of the Online Application Form, the candidate should read this notification carefully.
ii. OnbehalfofTelanganaStateGovernment,theOsmaniaUniversityannounces holding of theStateEligibilityTest(TS-SET)during the 1st or 2nd weeks of March, 2023 fordeterminingthe eli gibility ofTelanganaStudentsfortheEligibilityfor AssistantProfessor&Lecturerin Telangana UniversitiesandColleges. The TS-SETexaminationwillbeconducted inGeneral Studies and 29subjectsin CBT mode in 10 old districts of Telangana State. Tirupati, Vizag, Vijayawada and Kurnool will also be made centres depending on more applications. Candidates belonging to States outside Telangana will be treated as General Category irrespective of their reservation.

iii. TheEligibilityforAssistantProfessorwilldependontheperformanceof thecandidate in boththepapersofSETinaggregate. ThecandidateswhoqualifytheTestfor eligibility for Assistant Professor will be governed bythe rules and regulations for recruitment of Assistant Professoroftheconcerned Universities/Colleges/State Governments, asthe case may be.
iv. TheresultoftheTS-SETwillbemadeavailableonthewebsite: www.telanganaset.org as andwhenitisdeclared. Thecandidatewillnotbeindividuallyintimatedabouttheir result
i)
Thecandidateswhohavesecuredatleast55%marks(withoutroundingoff) in Master’sDegree(i.e., M.A., M.Sc., M.Com, MBA, MLISC, M.Ed., M.PEd., MCJ, LLM, MCA and M.Tech (CSE & IT only)) are eligible to apply. However,in case of theBackwardClasses(BC)/Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe(ST)/ Persons withDisability(PwD)categorycandidateswhohavesecuredat least50% marks (withoutroundingoff)inMaster’sDegreeis eligible forthis Test.
ii)
ThecandidateswhoarepursuingtheirMaster’sDegreecourseor the candidates whohaveappeared fortheirqualifyingMaster’s Degree(final year) examination andwhoseresultis stillawaitedor candidateswhose qualifying examinations have beendelayed mayalsoapplyforthistest. However, such candidateswillbe
admittedprovisionallyandshallbe consideredeligible for eligibility for Assistant Professor / Lecturer after they have passed their Master’sDegreeexamination withatleast55%marks(50% marks incaseofBC/SC/ST/PwD (Personswith Disability)categorycandidates. Such candidatesmustcompletetheirMaster’s Degreeexamination within twoyearsfromthedateofSETresultwithrequired percentageof marks, failing whichtheyshallbetreatedas disqualified.
iii) Candidatesbelongingtothirdgender, inotherwords, transgenderwouldbe eligible to draw the same relaxation in fee, age and qualifying criteria for TS- SET examinationasareavailableto SC/ST/PwDcategories
iv) ThePh.D.DegreeholderswhoseMaster’slevelexaminationhadbeen completed by19th September 1991(irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligibleforarelaxation of5%inaggregate marks(i.e.,from55%to50%) for appearingin SET.
v) CandidatesareadvisedtoappearinthesubjectoftheirPostGraduationonly.
vi) See the list of Subjects in Point No. 12 in which TS-SET examination is being conducted.
vii Candidates are neither required to send any certificates/documents in supportoftheireligibilitynorprintoutof theirApplication Form (Confirmation Page) to TS-SET office. However the candidates, in their own interest,mustsatisfythemselvesabouttheireligibilityfortheTest. Also, the candidatesmust show the original certificates at the stage of certificate verification. This is applicable for only the qualified candidates. In theevent of anyineligibilitybeingdetectedbytheTS-SETatanystage,their candidature will becancelledandtheyshallbeliableforlegal action.
viii) Candidates having Post-Graduate Diplomaawarded by Indian University/InstituteorForeignDegree/Diploma awardedbythe Foreign University/Instituteshouldintheirowninterest,ascertainthe equivalenceof their Degree/Diploma with Master’sDegreeof recognizedIndian universities fromAssociationofIndianUniversities(AIU),NewDelhi. ThereisNoUpperagelimittoapplyforTS-SET examination.

i) The candidates may pay the examination fee either by Credit Card / Debit Card/UPI/Net Banking, the additional processing charges as applicable will also be debited from the Credit Card /DebitCard/UPI/ Net Bankingofthe candidate.
ii) Afterfillingallthedetailsof the online application formforTS-SET
examination,the candidate willhavetheoptiontoselectthemodeof paymentof examinationfeeeither by Credit Card /DebitCard/UPI/Net Banking duringtheonlinefillingof theapplicationformindicating their details therein.
iii) PleasenotethatFeesubmittedbyanyothermodelikeMoneyOrder, Demand Draft,IPOetc.willnot be accepted .
iv) FeeoncepaidWILL NOTberefunded/adjusted underany circumstances.

Paper–I shallconsistof50objectivetypecompulsoryquestionseachcarrying2 marks . Thequestionswhichwillbeofgeneralnature,intendedtoassessthe teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, Comprehension,divergentthinkingandgeneralawarenessof the candidate.
Paper –II shallconsist of100objective typecompulsory questions each carrying 2 markswhichwillbebasedonthesubjectselectedbythe candidate.

Thiswillcompriseofthe following steps:
Step-I: Thenumberofcandidatestobequalified(totalslots)forEligibilityfor Assist ant Professorshallbeequalto6%ofthecandidatesappearedinboththe papersofTS- SET.
Step-II: Thetotalslotsshallbeallocatedtodifferentcategoriesasperthe reservation policyofGovernmentof Telangana.
i. Areservationof331/3%ofslotsinfavourofwomencandidatesineach subject and eachcategory. Theabovereservationshallnotbeapplicableif women candidates selectedonmeritineachcategoryexceed331/3%. If sufficientnumberof women candidatesarenotavailableintherespective categories,thoseslotsshallbe diverted tothemencandidatesofthesame category.
ii. Thereshallbehorizontalreservation forPersonswithDisabledcandidates in each category(OC/BC/SC/ST/Transgender) ineachsubjecttotheextent of3%.(As Per G.O.MSNo.339, Dated15-12-1999)
Step-III: Inordertobeconsideredfor‘EligibilityforAssistantProfessor/ Lecturer’ the candidate must have appeared in both the papers and secured at least 40% aggregatemarksinboththepaperstakentogetherforGeneral (Unreserved) category candidatesandatleast35%aggregatemarksin both thepaperstakentogetherfor all candidatesbelongingtothereserved categories(viz.,SC,ST,BC,& PwD) and Transgender.
Step-IV: Thenumberofcandidates tobedeclaredqualified inanysubjectfor a particularcategoryisderivedasperthefollowingmethodologyillustrated below:

Similaryardstickshallbeemployedforderivingthesubject-wisequalifyingcut-offs for all categories.
It may be noted that the above qualifying criteria decide by TS-SET is final and binding.
7)PROVISIONSFORPERSONSWITHDISABILITY(INCLUDING VISUALLY CHALLENGEDCANDIDATES)HAVING40%ORMORE DISABILITY.
i) TwentyminutescompensatorytimeshallbeprovidedforPaper–Iand forty minutesforPaper – II separately.
ii) The persons with minimum 40% Disability (Physically Challenged) candidateswhoarenotinapositiontowriteintheirownhand-writing can availtheservicesofscribeby makingpriorrequest(atleasttwo weeks before the date of TS-SET) in writing to the concerned Centre Superintendent.Compensatory timeandfacilityofscribewouldnot be providedtootherPersonswith less than 40% disability (Physically Challenged) candidates.
iii) The candidates with disability should fill in the type of disability correctlyintheonlineapplication formof TS-SET-2022 The types of disabilities arementionedas below:
a) blindnessandlow vision
b) deafandhardof hearing
c) locomotorsdisabilityincludingcerebralpalsy,leprosycured,dwarfism,acid attack victimsandmuscular dystrophy
d) autism,intellectualdisability,specificlearningdisabilityandmental illness;
e) Multipledisabilitiesfromamongstpersonsunderclauses(a)to(d)including deaf-blindnessinthepostsidentifiedforeach disabilities.
It maybenotedthattheHall Ticketwillbeuploadedonthe website: www.telanganaset.org during last week of Feb, 2023. NoHall Ticketwillbe sentto the candidatesby post. ThecandidatesshoulddownloadtheirHall Ticketsfrom the websitetoascertaintheirvenueoftheTestasmentionedin theHall Ticket and appearin theexaminationonlyatthedesignated examinationcentre. Nocandidate will be allowed to appear at the examination centre other than that allotted person intheHall Ticket.
i.Candidateregistering for the(TS-SET-2022)mustapply online onlyon theTS-SET website:( www.telanganaset.org)
ii. As per UGC norms “only one application is to be submitted by a candidate. More than one application i.e multiple Application Forms
submitted by a candidate will not be accepted".
iii.BeforeapplyingOnline,thecandidatesmustpossessthescanned images as below:
PassportsizephotographinJPGformatofminimum20kbto 40kb. The dimensionofthephotographshouldbe3.5cm (width)x4.5cm (height).
SignatureinJPGformatofminimum5kbto20kb. The dimensionof the signatureshouldbe3.5cm(width)x1.5cm (height).

iv. AfterfillingallthedetailsforapplyingonlineforSETthecandidates have to paytheexaminationfeeeitherbycredit/debit card/UP I/Net Banking.
v. Thecandidates arerequiredtobringaphotoidentitycard along with theirprintoutofonlineHall Ticketonthedayof examination.
vi. Before applying Online, candidates are advised to go through detai led notificationavailableonTS-SETwebsite: www.telanganaset.org Please note that Fee submitted through any other mode like Money Order,DemandDraft,IPOetc.willbesummarily rejected.
vii. Inordertoavoidlastminuterush,thecandidatesareadvisedtoapply early enough.TS-SETwillnotberesponsiblefornetworkproblems orany other problemofthisnatureinsubmissionofonlineapplication duringlast days.
i. TS-SET-2022willbeconductedinCBTMode.
ii. The Hall Ticketmust be presented for verification along with at least one original (no photocopy or scanned copy) valid identification card (for Example: Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhaar-UID, Government Employer ID and Driving License).
iii. The candidates who do not have clear photographs on the hall ticket will have to bring two passport size photographs for appearing in the Test with aselfundertakingattested by any Gazetted Officer.
iv. Candidateswillbesubjectedtofriskingtoensurethatyouarenotcarrying anyelectronicor any other gadgets, mobile/cellular phone, tablets, pen drives, Bluetooth devices, watch, calculator, log tables, wallet, purse, notes, charts, loose sheets or recording instruments strapped on your body or in your pockets.
v. There may not be a guaranteed security facility for safe-keeping of your valuable devices or personal belongings outside the examination hall.
vi. Thecheck-inprocedureinsidethetesthallincludescapturingyourphotoandleft thumbimpression. This is a security feature which will verify your identity and also to check impersonation by any candidate. Therefore, they are advised not to apply any external matters like Mehandi, Ink etc. on their Hands/Foot(BIOMETRIC).
vii. Candidatesareallowedinsidethetestcentrefrom 7:30 AM onwards(forthe forenoonsession) and from 12:30 PM onwards (for the afternoon session) for biometric verification.
viii. The test centre gate will be closed at 8:45 AM (for the forenoon session) and at 1:45 PM (forthe afternoon session). NO CANDIDATE WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE TEST CENTRE AFTER CLOSING THE GATE.
ix. Candidatescanloginandstartreadingthenecessaryinstructions10minutes beforethestart of the examination.
x. Candidatesareprohibitedfromcommunicating,consultingorconversingwith othercandidates in the Examination hall or causing disturbance in any manner whatsoever. Candidates are prohibited to borrow any item from other candidates in the Exam-Hall. In case of any disturbance, such candidates would be disqualified.
xi. Candidates will not be permitted to leave the examination hall before the end of the examination.
xii. CandidateshouldONLYcarryhis/herhallticketandvalididentification card(s)inside thetestcentreandanyotherbelongingswillnotbe strictlyallowedinsidethetest centre.
xiii. MockTestswill be provided to help candidates practice CBT much before the actual examination.
xiv. Please inform the invigilator in case of any technical issues during the Examination.
xv. Candidates can avail the facility of editing their application form after the last date.
QuestionpaperforPaper-Iis commonforallsubjectsin whichSETis conductedand it willbebi-lingual(EnglishandTelugu),Paper-IIofcertainsubjectswillalsobe bilingual. All questions of Paper II will be compulsory, coveringentiresyllabus. SyllabiforallTS-SET-2022subjectscanbedownloadedfrom the websites www.ugcnetonline.in , www.telanganaset.org and www.csirhrdg.res.in TS-SET office will not send the syllabus to individual candidates.
