17th IAAM National Conference on “MICROBIOLOGY IN THE NEW MILLENIUM” On Novermber 29 &30, 2019 Jointly organized by KALASALINGAM ACADEMY OF RESEARCH AND EDUCATION AND INDIAN ASSOCIATION OF APPLIED MICROBIOLOGISTS THEME OF THE CONFERENCE Microbiology is a wide-spread discipline covering the biology of a vast network of bacteria, viruses, protozoa and fungi. In recent years our knowledge on how microbes function has expanded vastly at a molecular level. There are tremendous progress in areas of agriculture and food production, vaccines and microbial genomics. Recent studies on microbiota of human at various body sites particularly in the gut are leading to the greater understanding of the influence of microorganisms and the way they affect the host. Composition of microbiome are demonstrated to be associated with non-infectious diseases including autoimmune diseases, cancer, diabetes etc. This conference will bring in experts in microbiology from both academia and industry, from India and abroad. The meeting will update current knowledge on various processes involving microorganisms and their impact on human welfare and will provide a platform for sharing and gaining insights into recent innovations in microbiology and allied fields. The Conference includes the following thrust areas • Role of microbes in Agriculture and Environment • Food and Industrial Microbiology • Microbiota in human health and diseases • Microbial Genomics and Computational techniques in genome analysis • Microbial Proteomics and Metabolomics • Therapeutic Microbial metabolites • Designing of newer drugs and vaccines Conference Website link http://kalasalingam.ac.in/site/ iaam2019/ Abstract submission link http://www.easychair.org/ conferences/?conf=mnm2019 ORGANISING CHAIR Dr. K.
