Conceptualizedintheyear2004asaphilanthropicinitiativefortheEasternandNorth-Easternparts ofIndiaandtheneighboringcountries,theTataMedicalCenter(TMC)startedoperationsinKolkata onMay16,2011.Thehospitalisgovernedbyacharitabletrust–TataMedicalCentreTrust.Itisan integratedOncologyfacilitywithwell-trainedprofessionalstaffandequippedwithmodernfacilities and the most contemporary medical equipment. The hospital was designed by Cannon Design, a renownedarchitecturalfirmfromNorthAmerica.Itislocatedon13acresoflandatNew Townin Kolkata,WestBengal.
ThehospitalisanintegratedOncologyfacilitywithwell-trainedprofessionalstaffandequippedwith modernfacilitiesandcontemporarymedicalequipment.TheHospital,withacapacityof437 beds, servesallsectionsofthesociety,with75%oftheinfrastructureearmarkedforsubsidizedtreatment fortheunderprivilegedsections.Itprovidesawidespectrumofservicesfromdiagnosisandtherapy torehabilitationandpalliativesupport.TheInstitution’sobjectiveistoexcelinservice,educationand research.
