BAYER FELLOWSHIPS PROGRAM - MEDHA
Guidelines:
1. OBJECTIVES:
Bayer’sFellowshipprogram-MEDHAistoprovidefellowshipsintheformoffinancialassistanceto studentsintheLife-sciences/Biotechnology/Pharmadisciplinetocontinuehigherstudiessuchas Master’sandPhDPrograms.
Medha helpsstudents whose educational aspirations are hampered bya lackof financial support. Thefellowshipsareopen only to students of the Economically Weaker Section* of the society enrolledintheLife-sciences/Biotechnology/Pharma.

3. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE AWARD OF FELLOWSHIP:
Thedetailedcriteriafortheawardoffellowshipareasfollows:
(a) For Master’s fellowships, a candidate must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Lifescience/Biotechnology/Pharmawithatleast55%marksor6onaten-pointscaleandabove
For PhD fellowships, a candidate must have completed a Master’s degree in LifeScience/Biotechnology/Pharmawithatleast60%marksor6.5onaten-pointscaleandabove.
(b) Only open for first-year students enrolled in a Master’s/ PhD program in LifeScience/Biotechnology/Pharma at an Institute/university/Research Lab approved by AICTE/PCI/UGC/CSIR.
(c)AgeLimit:
PostGraduatefellowship:25yearsorlowerason31st December,2022 PhDfellowship:30yearsorlowerason31st December2022.
(d)Allcandidatesshouldbeenrolledfull-timeandnotbereceivinganyotherfellowships.
4. DURATION OF THE FELLOWSHIP:
ThedurationoftheMedhaFellowshipshallbeforaperiodof2YearsforaMaster’sprogramand3 YearsforaPhDprogram.Nofurtherextensionwillbegranted.
5. AMOUNT OF FELLOWSHIP:
ForMaster’sProgramThecandidatewillbeprovidedafellowshipofRs.20,000permonth.
ForPhDProgramThecandidatewillbeprovidedafellowshipofRs.40,000permonth. Nocontingencygrantisadmissible.
6. NUMBER OF FELLOWSHIPS:
A total of 125 candidates will be supported under Medha fellowship program including 100 fellowshipsforMaster’sand25forPhDcandidates
7. RESERVATION POLICY:
TheMedhafellowshipisexclusivelyforEconomicallyWeakerSectionofthesociety*ofwhich60% isreservedforFemalecandidatesand10%forPersonwithDisability(PwD)foreachMaster’s/PhD program.

8. CONTINUATION OF FELLOWSHIP:
Master’scandidateswhoareawardedthefellowshipshouldconstantlyscoreatleast60%or6.5on aten-pointscaleineachsemester
PhDscholarsshouldconstantlyscoreatleast65%or7.0onaten-pointscale.
Or EvaluatedProjectProgressReportbySupervisorandDoctoralResearchCommittee (whicheverisapplicable).
9. AWARD TERMINATION/DISCONTINUATION:
Fellowshipsmaybeterminatedatanytimeduringthetenure,andthedecisionofBayerwillbefinal. Someofthekeyreasonsfortheterminationoffellowshipsaredescribedbelow.
• Misconductorineligibility
• Failure in any examination related to Master/PhD or unsatisfactory progress of research work.
• Applicants who furnish false information or engage in fraudulent activity may result in criminalprosecution.
• Supervisor’srecommendationand/orresignationacceptance.
• Unauthorizedchangeofhostinstitution
• Ifthefellowshipisterminatedonunethicalgrounds,thefellowshiprecipientmustrefundthe completefellowshipamountdisbursedtilldate.
10. TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
a) Thefellowshipwillbegrantedasperthedescribedeligibilitycriteria
• Research scholars enrolled in the Universities in the identified thrust areas of the program
• ScholarspursuingMaster’scourseinLife-sciences/Biotechnology/Pharma
b) The awardees shall submit a six months report on the progress, through the Research Supervisor,HeadoftheDepartment,andHeadoftheInstitutetotheimplementingagency ontheonlineportalforthecontinuationofthefellowship.
c) The awardees shall declare and upload achievements (patents, publications, conferences, awards, etc) on the online portal as an additional parameter for awardee progress assessment.
d) Theawardeesshallnotbeallowedthechangetotheinstitutewithoutpriorintimationand approvalfromBayer.
e) The fellowship amount will be directly credited to the candidate’s bank account after evaluation&approvaloftheuploadedprogressreport.
f) The awardees shall devote full-time to academic studies/research during the tenure of fellowshipandwillnotbepermittedtotakeupanypart-time/full-timeassignments,
salary/fellowship,oranyother financialassistanceofferedduringthetenureoffellowship throughanyothersource.
g) If the candidate's progress is not satisfactory as reported by the Supervisor/ Head of the Department /Head of the Research Institute/ University, the awardee fellowship shall be terminatedimmediately.Thiswillnotberevokedunderanycircumstances.
11. APPLICATION PROCESS:
ThecandidateshouldapplyfortheBayerFellowshipProgram-Medhaonorbefore13th January 2023,viatheonlineportalwww.bckic.in/medha.Multipleapplicationswillleadto disqualification.
Candidatesarerequiredtouploadthefollowingdocuments:
a. The scanned PDF copy of Marksheets stating aggregate marks/CPI (10th, 12th, and Bachelorfinalyear/semester);anadditionalMaster'sMarksheetforPhDstudents.
b. Scanned PDF copy of the EWS/Income Certificate issued by the competent authority undertheState/UTGovernmentcertifyingfamilyannualincomeofRs.8lakhsorless.
c. ScannedPDFcopyofthePwDCertificate(ifApplicable)
d. Scanned PDF copy of MSc/PhD Registration/Admission Certificate whichever is applicable
e. Scanned PDF copy of the Bonafide Certificate from the Institute/ University stating enrollmentandnootherfellowshipisbeingavailed(Template–AnnexureA).
f. PassportsizePhotoandSignature
g. TheletterofMotivation(forMaster’s),andProjectSummary(forPhD)
