No. CDFD/EMPC/4/August’ 19 CDFD, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, invites applications from Indian nationals for the following purely temporary vacancies in research project funded by Indian Council of Medical Research.

CDFD wishes to fill up the following posts through Walk-in-Interview in the project titled “Identification and characterization of genetic lesions causing Lynch Syndrome in India”, whose total duration is three years.

The description of the positions and minimum qualifications for various vacancies are as follows: 1) SENIOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANT: Upper Age Limit (only for fresh recruits): 30 years Consolidated Emoluments: ` 32,000/- p.m.

Essential qualifications: M.Sc degree in any branch of life sciences.

OR B.Sc. in any branch of life sciences from a recognised university with 5 years of work experience in recognized Institution Desirable qualifications: Experience with routine molecular biology experiments including DNA / RNA isolation, cloning, and regular and quantitative PCR; Cell Culture; H&E staining and immunohistochemistry.

2) LABORATORY ASSISTANT: Upper Age Limit (only for fresh recruits): 28years Consolidated Emoluments: ` 17,000/- p.m.

Essential qualifications: 10th class or equivalent with five years experience in related field from a Government Institution or recognized Institute or certificate of one year training in the relevant area or ITI or National Trade certificate of National Council for Vocational Training and successful completion of ATS in relevant trade from a Government recognized board. *Intermediate with science subjects and B.Sc. shall be treated as equivalent to 2 and 3 years experience respectively.

Desirable qualifications: a. MLT or DMLT degree b. Experience with routine laboratory work such as making of reagents, bacterial and cell culture media, autoclaving, washing laboratory ware, etc. in a recognised life science research laboratory c. Ability to converse efficiently in Telugu in addition to proficiency in reading and writing. Ability to read, write and speak Hindi, Urdu and English.

GENERAL CONDITIONS The general conditions governing the Advertisement No. CDFD/EMPC/4/AUG’ 19 are as follows: 1. Mere fulfilling minimum qualification will not entitle a candidate for being called for test / interview.

2. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

3. Depending on the qualifications, experience and recommendations of the Selection Committee, the selected candidates may be placed in a scale and designation lower than the grade advertised/applied (in the same group) 4. All these positions are purely temporary and coterminus with the project and

are initially for a maximum of one year.

5. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped/Ex-service applicants will be as per Govt. of India rules.

6. Relaxation of age for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped/Ex-service person/ Women applicants will be as per Govt. of India rules.

7. Any of the selected individuals may from time to time be assigned to perform any other duties commensurate with their qualifications, by the Director, CDFD. 8. The Director, CDFD reserves the right to suitably change/relax any of the above conditions. He also reserves the right to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason.
