Positions available Genetic Services Unit (GSU) has been jointly established in 2016 by the National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG), Kalyani, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India & Government of West Bengal. The objective of GSU is to provide reliable diagnosis for various genetic defects that manifest either at birth or later in life.

We are looking for motivated individuals interested in a career in molecular diagnostics for the positions listed below.

Each position in contractual, with an initial appointment period of one year, which may be extended depending on performance and availability of funds.

Nature of Duty

(1) At least a graduate (B.Sc.) degree in any branch of Life Sciences.

(2) Age should not exceed 35 years on the date of advertisement.

(3) Working experience of at least one year using molecular biology techniques like DNA/RNA extraction, gel electrophoresis, PCR and PCR-based genotyping, qPCR.

1. Knowledge of using computers for record keeping and data analysis.

2. Good communication skill in Bengali, Hindi, and English.

3. Experience of handling clinical samples.

(1) Preparation of reagents, maintenance of equipment, autoclaving, routine laboratory work including genetic testing of clinical samples following SOPs. 2. Handling of clinical samples.

3. Maintenance of referral database and laboratory inventory.

20,000/- + 24% HRA

(1) At least a graduate degree (B.Sc./B.Tech.) in Bioinformatics.

(2) Age should not exceed 35 years on the date of advertisement.

(3) Working experience of at least one year in DNA sequencing and other PCR based techniques and data analysis.

This position is purely contractual, and the appointment will be initially given for one year, which is extendable depending upon performance, requirement of the project and availability of funds.
