TWO POSITIONS OF A JRF AND RESEARCH ASSOCIATE OFFERED APPLICATIONS INVITED FOR JRF in ICMR PROJECT (Biochemistry /Biophysics/Biotechnology) Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in an ICMR sponsored project entitled, “Structure-Based Design of Nanobody Inhibitors Against EGFR: A Protein Engineering Approach To Develop Novel Therapeutics For Lung Cancer”. The project will be conducted under the guidance of Prof. Deepak Sehgal, Head, Department of Life Sciences, Shiv Nadar University, and his collaborator Dr Krishna at AIIMS. The project requires a candidate with knowledge in Enzymology and/or structural Biochemistry like CD, DLS, Fluorescence, X-Ray crystallization etc. It provides learning on basic techniques of Molecular Biology, Cell culture and Protein Biochemistry. The candidate will be encouraged to perform independent research and publish. Essential Qualification: Bachelor degree with 60% marks and Master’s degree in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Life Science / Protein Chemistry with minimum 60% marks from a recognized university with at least one year of research experience. Candidate should have cleared GATE, CSIR DBT or ICMR JRF, M.Tech. Or any other competitive exam that makes him eligible for the JRF position as defined in Office Memorandum of DST. Candidates with NET/GATE will qualify as JRFs with a salary of Rs. 31,000 + HRA. Candidates without NET/GATE qualification will be appointed as Project Assistant as per the DST norms. It is Desirable: that the candidate has hands-on experience on Protein Purification and characterization Applications should include complete bio-data, with details of educational qualification, experience in chronological order, percentage of marks from BSc. Onwards. Applications should be sent by email to anil.shukla@snu.edu.in on or before December 5, 2019: Selected candidates will be called for interview at the Shiv Nadar University campus. Last Date of application Dec 5, 2019 SPONSORSHIP AVAILABLE FOR THE POST-DOCTORAL POSITION Our Lab would like to sponsor positions of the Post Doctorate Fellows (Research Associate) who wish to apply for fellowships like DBT-RA, NPDF, WOS, UGC-RA, ICMR-RA, INSA etc.. The project may be submitted to the funding agency. We will guide you for writing the project. If project is granted, we will be happy to accommodate you in our Lab and extend all the facilities and knowledge in the fields of Molecular Biology, Protein Chemistry and Virology. Our Lab works on following four projects: 1. Development of in vitro HEV Culture system to establish the role of its enzymes and their inhibitors to study the replication cycle of the virus. (DST) 2. Biochemical and Biophysical characterization of the non-structural enzymes of HEV involving their crystallization to find out their inhibitors that may act as putative drug candidates. (DBT) 3. Study the mechanism of processing of HEV polyprotein leading to its cleavage into Non-structural enzymes. (DST) 4. Modelling and simulation of the non-structural enzymes to predict the active site and its inhibitors using virtual screening ( WOSA)
