Hands-on Training Workshop for Women Scientists on Human Cell Culture Technology and its Applications in Cancer Research This training programme will be conducted by Prof. Bharathi P. Salimath at the Department of Studies in Biotechnology, University of Mysore, Manasagangotri, Mysuru 570 006. The programme is sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, KIRAN Division, Govt of India, India. The Workshop will be conducted in two batches of 20 participants each from 12 to 22 November 2018, and 26 November to 6 December 2018 respectively. The workshop which is mainly practical oriented intends to cover basics of cell culture technology including cell proliferation assays, apoptosis assays and angiogenesis assays. Experiments such as transient transfection and reporter gene analysis, gene expression studies using qRT PCR, cell signalling pathways using western blotting, construction of 3D spheroids, imaging are the main focus of this workshop. Interested women scientists with funding from DST WOS-A scheme or researchers/teaching faculty in life sciences division are eligible to apply for this training programme. Principle investigators having WOS-A grant will be given TA (3 tier AC charges) and are exempted from training fees. Contact Prof. Bharathi P.
