Post-doctoral position (RA-I) in Mammalian Ion channel Structural Biology and Drug Discovery One Research Associate (RA-I) position is available in the Membrane Protein Biology Group, ICGEB, New Delhi component in a DBT sponsored project. Fellowship and duration: 47000 + 24 % HRA =58,280.00 Rs /month. The project is funded till June 2021. The position is available for the first six months and will be extended based on the performance evaluation. Qualifications: PhD in Biological Sciences. Only Indian nationals can apply. Experience/skills: Commendable experience in some of the following is preferable; molecular cell biology, transfection, protein overexpression in insect or mammalian cells, protein purification, crystallization, structure determination using X-ray or cryo-EM, target structure-based drug design, inhibitor screening using cancer cell lines and animal models of cancer. Job description: Cloning into mammalian expression vector, ion channel overexpression in HEK293S GnTI- cell line and yeast, detergent screening, F-SEC, protein purification, sample preparation for cryo-EM, crystallization using LCP, cryo-EM and/or X-Ray data collection, structure determination and structure-based small molecule drug design using Schrodinger suite, inhibitor screening using various cancer cell lines. Proven experience in manuscript/grant writing is most desirable.
