Indian Nationals are invited for a personal interview (both online & physical mode) on May 18, 2023 at about 10.00 am for one temporary position of “Senior Project Associate” under the project entitled “Neural circuit and behaviour” in the School of Biological Sciences, NISER BhubaneswarfundedbyDAE,Govt.ofIndia.

QUALIFICATION:

1. Master’s degree in Biology or Biological/Life-Sciences from a recognized university or equivalent; AND

2.MinimumFouryearsofexperienceinresearchanddevelopmentinindustrialand/oracademic Institutions or science and technology organizations. OR Doctoral Degree in Biology or Biological/Life-Sciences from a recognized university or equivalent. Preferencewillbegiventothecandidatewith

 Experienceinworkingonanimalmodels.

 Experience in neuroscience research and techniques including stereotaxic surgeries, behaviour,andneuroanatomy.

 Hands-onexperienceonimmunofluorescence,imageanalysis,andbrainmapping.

The aim of this project is to find out the shared neural pathways in the brain linking these two intricate functions, and common neuromodulators employed by these pathways. The candidate willperformtheexperiments,processthebrain,analysethebehaviourandchangesintheneural circuits. The above position is purely temporary for six months or completion of the project, whichever is earlier andstrictlyco-terminus with the project and not leading to anyPh.D. degree inNISER.
