Recruitment for the post of Project Assistant for DST–SERB (ECR) Project Applications are invited for the post of Project Assistant, in SERB-DST (ECR) sponsored project (Ref.No. ECR/2018/000147) at Department of Chemistry, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur-610 005, Tamil Nadu.

Project Title: “Utilization and Transformation of CO2: A DFT study on Pd- and Ni- catalyzed carboxylation of organic halides with CO2”.

Project Duration

: Three years

Initially for one year (will be extended upto 3 years subject to satisfactory performance of the candidate, as well as the availability & release of funds from DST).

Note

: The post is purely temporarily in nature and coterminous with the project.

Age Limit: 28 (relaxation admissible as per rules of Govt. of India) Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized university/Institute with a consistent good academic record throughout. Those who have appeared for final semester examination of M.Sc can also apply. The candidates can also enroll for Ph.D if they qualify CUCET-2019 or NET/JRF. Prior experience or basic knowledge in Computational Chemistry related research is preferred.

NOTE:        

Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on merit and prior knowledge in the relevant research area.

Candidates shortlisted for interview should bring all original certificates (Marks cards, NET/SLET certificates, Publications, etc.) for verification.

No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview.

The appointment will be on a purely temporary basis and co-terminus with the project.

The Job could be terminated depending upon his/her performance without giving any prior notice.

Candidate selected based on performance shall be encouraged to register for PhD as per CUTN norms.
