Admission Notice for Integrated MS-PhD in Biotechnology with specialization in Biomedical Genomics (August 2023 session)
ApplicationsareinvitedfromeligiblecandidatesforadmissiontotheIntegratedMS-PhDprogramat NationalInstituteofBiomedicalGenomics(NIBMG,Kalyani,WestBengal)forthesessionstartingin August2023.ThebroadareasofresearchpursuedatNIBMGare:

Minimum Eligibility: Indiannationalswithminimum55%aggregatemarks(oranequivalentgrade pointaverage)inbachelor’sdegreeinanybranchofBiologicalSciencesareeligibletoapply.Students fromtheSC,ST,OBC(non-creamylayer),andPWDcategoriesshallbegivenarelaxationof5%marks. Students in the last year of their bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply, provided they can produceaproofofhavingsecuredtheminimumaggregatemarksatthetimeofadmission
Selection procedure: Candidates applying for admission into our Integrated MS-Ph.D. program (2023)wouldneedtoqualifyoneofthese2exams(inthecurrentyear),accordingtothescreening cut-offsdeterminedbyNIBMG.
1) Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS conductedbyNCBS/TIFR):ExamheldinDecember2022.
2) JointAdmissionTestforM.Sc.JAM-2023inBiotechnology(BT),Mathematics(MS),Chemistry (CY)willbeeligible:ExamheldinFebruary2023. Further,CandidatesneedtohaveMathematicsasasubjectat10+2orhigherlevel.Candidateswho fulfil theminimumeligibilityconditions and haveappeared foranyoftheaboveexamsmayapply online.CandidateswillbeshortlistedforinterviewiftheirscoresinJGEEBILS(December2022)or JAM2023(BT,MS,orCY)arehigherthanthecut-offsdeterminedbyNIBMG.Finalselectionwillbe basedexclusivelyonthecandidate’sInterviewperformance. ThereshallbereservationofseatsforstudentsfromtheSC,ST,OBC,EWSandPWDcategoriesasper theordersoftheGovt.ofIndiainthisregard.
SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD candidates should also upload true copy of Caste Certificate / Latest noncreamylayercertificate/otherrelevantcertificatealongwiththeapplicationandoriginalsshouldbe producedatthetimeofjoining.

First Round of Interviews will be held ON-LINE on 17-07-2023 and 18-07-2023 from 10 AM onwards. (List of qualified candidates for second round interview shall be published on NIBMG websiteon 18-07-2023).
Second Round of Interviews will be held in OFF-LINE/PHYSICAL mode on 24-07-2023.(Listof qualified candidates for second round interview shall be published on NIBMG website on 27-072023).
