WALK-IN INTERVIEW for JRF POSITION (Funded by Dept. of Science & Technology and Biotechnology, Govt. of West Bengal (DSTBT-WB) A Walk-in-Interview will be held on 17th July, 2019 from 10 a.m. onwards in the Department of Biotechnology, NIT, Durgapur for the following position. Sl. No. 1.
Name of the post and salary/fellowship Junior Research Fellow (purely on temporary basis); Fellowship: i) @ Rs. 16,000/p.m. + HRA15% + medical allowance Rs.300/p.m. (allowances subject to Institute norms) for first 2 Yrs. ii) @ Rs. 18,000/- p.m. + HRA15% + Medical allowance Rs.300/p.m. (allowances subject to Institute norms) in the 3rd Yr.
Eligibility Criteria
Name of the Project
B.Tech/BE/M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Biochemical Engg/Microbiology/Biochemistry or an allied area with at least 60% marks.
Microbial production of Lactic Acid using wastes (dairy waste & rice straw) as substrates, for the production of bioplastic
Qualified in GATE/any NET (national eligibility test) for Ph.D Admission. (not essential if M.Tech/ME qualified) List of NETs: CSIR, UGC, JEST, JAM, DBT-JRF, etc. However, these NET qualifications will have to be relevant to the qualifying degree of the candidate concerned. Research experience in microbial biotechnology & fermentation/area relevant to the project will be preferred.

The above position is purely contractual, and is for a maximum period of three (03) years within the duration of the project only. The selected candidate will not be entitled to claim any regular appointment/absorption in this institute. She/he may apply for registration for Ph.D. degree at NIT Durgapur, after clearing the institutional admission procedure. 2. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. 3.
