1.3.AboutJuniorResearchFellowshipStipend

ThestipendofaJRFselectedthroughCSIR-NationalEligibilityTest(NET)willbe Rs.31,000/-p.mforthefirsttwoyears.Inaddition,annualcontingentgrantof Rs20,000/-perFellowwillbeprovidedtotheUniversity/InstitutionTheFellowshipwill begovernedbytermsandconditionsofCSIR,UGCorResearchScheme,asapplicable

OnCompletionoftwoyearsasJRFandiftheFellowisregisteredforPhD,the FellowshipwillbeupgradedtoSRF(NET)andthestipendwillbeincreasedto Rs.35,000/-p.mforthe3rdandsubsequentyears,onthebasisofassessmentof Fellows’researchprogress/achievementsthroughinterviewbyanExpertCommittee consistingoftheGuide,HeadoftheDepartmentandExternalMemberfromoutsidethe University/Institutionwhoisanexpertintherelevantfield,notbelowtherankof Professor/AssociateProfessorAsfaraspossible,theExternalMembershouldbethe chairmanofthreemembersCommittee.WheretheguidehappenstobetheHeadofthe Department,theDean,FacultyofScienceoranyseniormemberoftheDepartmentmay beassociatedasthethirdmemberoftheCommitteeIntheeventoftheCommitteenot recommendingup-gradationorthefellowhasnotregisteredforPh.D.,thecandidatewill continueasJRFwithastipendofRs31,000/-pmforthe3rdyearorhis/herfellowship maybeterminateddependingupontherecommendationoftheCommitteeandthe decisionofCSIRinthisregardshallbefinal.TheprogressofresearchworkofJRFwill beassessedbydulyconstitutedthreememberassessmentcommitteeagainattheend of3rdyearforsuchup-gradation.

CandidatesenrolledforM.Sc.orhavingcompleted10+2+3yearsoftheabovequalifying examinationasontheclosingdateofonlinesubmissionofApplicationForm,arealso eligibletoapplyintheabovesubjectundertheResultAwaited(RA)categoryonthe conditionthattheycompletethequalifyingdegreewithrequisitepercentageofmarks withintwoyearsfromthedateofdeclarationofJointCSIR-UGCNETTestresult, failingwhichtheyshallbetreatedasdisqualified.
