The position is based at Sikkim University, Gangtok.

Nature of work

First class Masters Degree in Zoology/ Life Sciences/ Environmental Science/ Environmental management or allied disciplines with NET*

Experience of working in Mountain environment, interest to work on herpetofauna, working knowledge of ecological analysis, GIS & Modelling Experience in assisting in the field studies and knowledge on biodiversity of the region

Field data collection, analysis, reporting and other research activities

Intermediate Assisting Research (10+2) preferably in Fellows/PIs for field science. Educational surveys in the qualifications may be project. relaxed for candidates with prior experience in assisting in the field studies and knowledge on biodiversity of the region. *Non-NET candidates may apply and if selected, will be considered as Junior Project Fellow (JPF) and fellowship will be as per the norms of MoEF&CC, Govt. of India

Duration: The initial appointment will be for six months, and may be extended for another one year based on performance review or till the termination of the project whichever is earlier.

Interview: Walk-in-Interview will be conducted on 6th June 2019 at the Dept. of Zoology, Sikkim University, Barad Sadan Building, 5th Mile Tadong, Gangtok, Sikkim- 737102 Candidates appearing for Interview should bring original copies (with Xerox copy) of testimonials, bio-data, publications etc. along with filled in application in the prescribed format given at the end of this advertisement.
