Applications are invited on prescribed format for the following assignment in a purely time bound research project undertaken in the Department of Biotechnology & Medical Engineering of the Institute. Selected candidate may enroll in PhD program in the Department of Biotechnology & Medical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela based on Institute norms and regulations.

6. Job Description

: To carry out fermentation with food-grade micro-organisms such as Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Lactobacillus sp.

(L. paracasei, L. rhamnosus, L. acidophilus, L. plantarum) or using novel micro-organisms isolated from sea food samples for the production of bioactive compounds with food based applications.

7. Consolidated monthly

compensation / Fellowship

: Rs. 30,000/- (25000 + 20 % HRA for 1st & 2nd year) and Rs. 33,600/- (28000 + 20 % HRA for 3rd year). Based on the performance of the research work the fellowship will be converted into Institute fellowship as per Institute rule after project fellowship.

: M.Tech in Biotechnology with 1st class. Candidate must have qualified the GATE examination. : Prior experience in working with bioreactor and HPLC is desirable, however, not mandatory. : Bachelor accommodation in the Institute may be provided subject to availability or HRA will be provided.

Registrar, SRICCE, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela – 769 008 on or before 15.06.2018, 5 PM and also attend the walk-in-interview for the post on 20.06.2018 at 10.00 AM in the Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering, NIT Rourkela. The envelop cover should be super-scribed clearly with the post applied for & Name of the Project. Mere possession of minimum qualification does not guarantee invitation to the interview. Candidate will be selected based on merit and need of the project.
