Desirable Experience:

2 PA I positions are available for a collaborative Project (A novel function for a conserved bioamine in long term memory and RNA granule remodeling) funded by the Indo French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (CEFIPRA) and the post is co terminus with the project duration.

Essential Qualification & Experience: Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / MVSc or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.
Experience with working with Drosophila and running behavior assays for memory and other types of behaviour, brain dissections, immunostaining and genetics (setting up crosses to make combination of mutants, etc.), imaging (confocal and live calcium imaging). If candidates have experience of programming and doing cloning, it will be further beneficial.
Desirable Qualification & Experience:
Work will involve long hours of recording courtship behaviour, and quantifying videos manually. Due to the time course of experiments including following memory kinetics post training, there will be numerous occasions where the candidates will need to work over the weekends and holidays. Candidates should be prepared for this.
The candidates are expected to be driven by their own motivation for science, be fearless in their work, adventurous in spirit and honest and ethical with their behaviour.
