Date: 07/09/2018 Applications are invited for the following purely temporary project based positions. Candidates having appropriate qualifications in relevant subject/specialization with consistently good academic record and experience may apply as mentioned below.

Title of the project: “Himalayan Research Fellowship -2017–18”, funded by National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS), MoEF, Govt. of India [GBPNI/NMHS-2017-18/HSF -07].

Positions

Research Associate-I (RA-I) Rs. @36,000/+8% HRA per month

Junior Research Fellow (JRF): @ Rs.25,000/- + HRA 8% per month for first two years and RS.28,000/- + HRA 8% for third year subject to performance.

Qualifications PhD degree from UGC-recognized University/ IITs/ National Research Institutes.

Desirable Preference will be given to the candidates having experience in microbiology/ molecular biology/ organic farming, strong interest and background in field Surveying.

Title of the work

Development of microbial inoculums for organic farming in Sikkim for increased productivity, nutrient uptake and diseases management

Documentation and validation of indigenous Knowledge based agronomic practice for growth promotion and diseases management in organic farming in Sikkim state

For JRF, non-NET candidates may apply and if selected, will be considered as Junior Project Fellow (JPF). Fellowship for JPF will be as per the norms of Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India Duration: Initially for one year but extendable up to three years or up to the termination of project whichever is earlier, subject to annual performance review.

Candidate with adequate qualifications and appropriate experience in relevant subject/specialization with good academic records may appear for Walk-In-Interview on 24.09.2018 at 10-30 AM onwards at Department of Horticulture, Sikkim University, 6th Mile, Tadong, Gangtok.
