NOTIFICATION FOR ADMISSION TO Ph. D. PROGRAMMES ACADEMIC YEAR 2021-22

1.

Online applications are invited from the national level tests qualified candidates (as referred in Sl no. 07 and 08) for direct admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D.) Programmes in Central University of Jharkhand for the Academic Session 2021-22.

2.

The application will be filled through the link https://cujadm21.samarth.edu.in/

3.

All prospective Candidates interested to take admission for Ph.D. programs in the subjects offered by the Central University of Jharkhand must have participated in online registration and counselling process.

(ii). Candidates are required to upload a recent passport size photograph, scanned signature and scanned copies of the supporting documents (Annexure-I). (iii). After successful submission of online application, a print-out of the same along with supporting documents, should be retained to be brought along at the time of interview.

Application fee once paid shall not be refunded in any case. Candidates shall be required to make the payment of fee through online mode while filling up applications.

Eligibility Criteria – As per Annexure-II (However, meeting the minimum Eligibility Criteria requirement will not guarantee registration for Ph.D. as it is dependent upon performance in the interview, availability of vacant seats and specialization.)

8.

Mode of Direct Admission: A candidate who fulfils one of the following requirements, as applicable for relevant disciplines, may be considered for direct admission to the Ph.D. Programme without appearing in the entrance test (i).

A candidate who is qualified in a national level test such as National Eligibility Test such as UGC/CSIR-NET-JRF (with fellowship), NET-LS (without fellowship), ICMRJRF, DBT-BET, Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE), State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) accredited by UGC/ Central Government or State

Candidate must have valid UGC/CSIR -NET, ICMR-JRF, DBT-BET, GATE, SLET certificate and must have some financial assistance such as UGC/CSIR/ICMR/DBT-JRF/AICTE/ financial assistance from Govt. agencies {Like Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF), Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF) etc. (ii).

A candidate who is a recipient of National Doctoral Fellowship or other fellowships from Government /semi-government organizations (through AllIndia selection procedure conducted by the agencies/organization for award of research fellowships) such as Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Indian Council of Medical Research, and similar National Level Organizations.

(iii).

A candidate who is selected under Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) of AICTE for Faculty Development Programme of a State Government/UGC.

(iv).

A foreign national who is a recipient of a fellowship by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Government of India and who is sponsored by his/her government.

(v).

Av self-financing foreign national who is admitted through the Embassy/High commission i of his/her country or admitted under a MoU with due clearance from the ) Indian Missions abroad. As per revised guidelines/instructions of the Department of Higher Education, MHRD, GOI on grant of research visa, the foreigners who desire to undertake research in India, should therefore, apply to the concerned Indian Missions abroad with the brief synopsis of the research project to be undertaken in India, the details of places to be visited, previous visits, whether the scholar has secured admission into a recognized or reputed institution and evidence of financial resources.

(vi).

A candidate, working in an externally funded research project in the University as a research personnel, may be allowed to register for Ph. D. in the University.

Provided further that in such cases, the consents of the PI and the supervisor (in case PI is not the supervisor) that the research work of the Project and that of the Ph. D. will not hamper the interest of either.

10. Mode of Interview (i).

Interview / viva-voce shall be conducted only of those candidates who have completed the online application process.

(ii).

Interviews will be held in offline (preferably)/online mode (depending on prevailing Covid pandemic situation). The same will be notified on the university website. It may please be noted that no request for change in date and time of interview will be entertained. Candidature for PhD admission will not be considered if the candidate fails to appear in the interview.

(iii).

The final information regarding the date of interview will be notified on the University's website. Candidates are advised to keep visiting the University website regularly.

(iv).

Candidate will be disqualified if he only completes the online application process and does not appear for the interview.

(v).

Admission will be offered to the candidates in order of merit after personal interview /presentation followed by verification of the submitted documents by the concerned department.

(vi).

Performance evaluation weightage For Candidates Qualified with UGC/CSIR/ICMR/DBT-BET-JRF etc. (with Fellowship): a. Fixed weightage: 70 Marks b. Interview: 30 Marks For Candidates Qualified with UGC/ CSIR-NET/ GATE/ DBT-BET, etc. (without fellowship) a. Fixed weightage: 50 Marks b. Percentage of Marks obtained in NET/GATE/DBT-BET/JEST, etc. (20% weightage)- 20 Marks c. Interview: 30 Marks

11. Documents required at the time of Interview- As per the Annexure-I (Candidate must ensure that, they should have all the original documents of their respective qualifying examinations at the time verification of Documents).

12. Declaration of result: The list of provisionally selected candidates in the interview shall

13. General Instructions (i).

A list of eligible candidates to take part in the admission process will be displayed online on the university website (www.cuj.ac.in) along with the details of further admission process.

(ii).

The candidate should ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility criteria and other norms mentioned in this notification on the date of online Registration. Ensuring the eligibility for applying to a particular programme will be the sole responsibility of the candidate.

(iii).

The registered email id and mobile number shall be used for the communication process. Candidate(s) must ensure that mobile no. and e-mail ID provided by him/her are valid and are active. The mobile no. and the e-mail ID must be his/her own or of the immediate family members /Guardians. All future communications with the candidates will take place only through the given email.

(iv).

In case of admission, candidate(s) is/are also advised to pay the fee from his/her own account or the account of immediate family member/guardians, and it should not be from the account of others or unknown person because the refund of fee if any will be remitted in the same account, arising out of cancellation or otherwise. It is advised to keep a copy of the fee receipt either in digital or print form for future references.

(v).

The selected candidates will be allowed to deposit the Academic fee as per the schedule intimated to candidates. A link will be provided to selected candidates.

Failing to deposit the Programme Academic Fee within the stipulated time frame, the candidate admission will automatically stand cancelled and waitlisted candidates will be given the opportunity to deposit the Programme Academic fees.

(vi).

With reference to the UGC guidelines, in the event of a student withdrawing before the starting of the programme, the waitlisted candidates shall be given admission against the vacant seat. The Academic fee collected from the student shall be refunded by the University to the student withdrawing from the programme as per UGC/University refund policy.

(vii).

If seats remain vacant or vacancy of seats occur after withdrawals of admission, the vacant seats shall be filled from the waiting list.

(viii).

The cut-off date for admission to the waiting list, if any, shall be notified later.

Thereafter no admission shall be made by the University.

(ix).

The University reserves the right not to offer the Programme in any particular discipline, if the response to the Programme is not adequate. The decision of the University will be final in this regard.

The reservation is as per UGC/Government of India guidelines as issued from time to time.

(xi).

The student admitted in the University shall have to submit a medical fitness certificate from Govt. Hospital that he/she is medical fit to pursue higher education.

11.
