Petrobras released this week a public opportunity aiming to hire one accommodation unit. The tender, which has been named Nova 05 or N-5, will be closed envelope, without reverse auction. This time, all types of hulls will be evaluated. The units must have 440 PAX capacity and 805m2 of free deck area. The unit should be able to connect the gangway 14 minimum till 21 meters maximum above the water line. The gangway length in the zero position must be at least 36,0 meters (+/6,0 meters of maximum range course). Contract period is of 515 days firm plus 450 days option and the unit shall arrive in Brazilian waters 30 days upon contract execution. Bidders have until January 11th 2023 to submit an offer on the originally posted deadline.
Petrobras closes 2022 as one of the busiest chartering years, dropping another PSV tender in the market – the fifth to be released just this quarter. The opportunity is a SEP (closed tender) aiming to charter up to 3 vessels that will be exclusively dedicated to block BM-S11, within Tupi field. The specifications required in this opportunity mirror the ones desired/targeted in two previous tenders (Up to 20 PSVs and Up to 11 PSVs for Búzios and Roncador), and already includes clarifications as provided on the previous sister-tenders. Owners will be able to present candidates as Multipurpose, Fluid Carrier or General Cargo, split into several batches. Vessels with 3000, 4000 and 4500 DWT will be accepted, and all batches consider mobilization in November 2023, or 120 days from contract signature, whichever is latest. Sensing the tighter supply, Petrobras has already confirmed that Bidders will be able to present candidates already offered in previous bids. The original deadline for offers is January 09th 2023.

P-71 production in itapu field Petrobras has started producing oil from Itapu field located in the Santos basin, off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. The only production unit in this field, FPSO P-71, is capable of processing up to 150,000 barrels of oil and 6 million m3 of gas per day and operates in water depths of 2,010 meters. Full production capacity is expected in 2023. The hull of the FPSO was built in China arriving in Brazil in 2020 and Jurong Aracruz Shipyard finished its construction earlier this year as we reported.
