Transocean announced the conclusion of a deal with Petrobras for the charter of the ultradeepwater drilling rig Dhirubhai Deepwater KG2. The contract valued at USD 392 million which excludes mobilizations costs, has a duration of 910 days with commencement expected for Q3 2023. The rig was built at the Samsung Heavy Industries Geoje shipyard in South Korea and started operating in 2010. It has a drilling capacity of 10.600 m and can operate at water depths of up to 3.600 m.
siem dorado in Brazil
Siem Dorado, a 2009 built MPSV from Owners Siem Offshore has recently arrived in Rio de Janeiro. The foreign flagged vessel is chartered by PXGEO and will support a 3D ocean bottom node (OBN) survey project awarded by Petrobras. The project comprehends acquisition in water depths of up to 2200m with a campaign duration of approximately 4 months.
new development for buzios
The National Petroleum Agency (ANP) has approved Petrobras’ latest revision on the development plan for Búzios field. The National oil company included the development of the shared reservoir between Búzios and Tambuatá fields and plans to invest ca. USD 97 billion, with the installation of a total of 12 production units at the field and increasing the number of wells drilled to 208. Búzios already counts with four production modules operating at the field and the next one in line for commissioning is the FPSO Almirante Barroso, expected to start producing in Q1 2023. Petrobras has already managed to secure 11 units for the Búzios field amongst operational, under construction/commissioning and recently awarded, leaving one spot open for the 12th and last production unit to be procured and chartered by Petrobras.
hornbeck’s fleet
PSV 5000 HOS Crestview has recently arrived at Guanabara Bay. She will soon commence a two-year charter with PRIO performing supply duties. Hornbeck Offshore now counts with two PSVs as part of their fleet in Brazilian waters. The other supply vessel, Hos Brass Ring, has been awarded a six-months charter with Equinor.
