Fall Round Up

Veterans Day Chapel

Veterans Day is a special occasion at Westminster Schools of Augusta. We take great pride in our military community, and we strive to honor them by acknowledging their service to our country and the sacrifices that they and their families make to keep us safe.

This year, we were honored to have retired Lt. Col. Allen Grinalds speak to us about his time as a pilot in the United States Marine Corps and as a Top Gun instructor. Grinalds and his wife, Mimi ’97, have six children. The oldest, Allen, Jr., graduated from Westminster this year, and the other five currently attend Westminster.

Fall Festival

The Fall Festival is a favorite Westminster tradition. This year, expected inclement weather during Homecoming Weekend led to the rescheduling of the Fall Festival. It took place in the late afternoon and evening of Grandparents Day, which meant a full day of fun for many of our Westminster grandparents.

Golden Harvest Food Bank Turkey Collection

Our Middle School students love a challenge, so when asked to support the Golden Harvest Food Bank’s November Turkey Drive, they rose to the occasion. They collected an amazing 63 turkeys to support food-insecure families in the CSRA for Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Chapel

Our annual Thanksgiving Chapel was a wonderful celebration of togetherness and joy. The traditional Turkey Video remains a source of joy for students from PreK up to grade 12. It is truly special to hear about blessings from our students, in their own words. While the faculty and staff always give a love offering to our service staff, this year we invited our greater community to contribute to that offering, and the outpouring of love was amazing. From beginning to end, lifting our voices in praise, every moment was a blessing.
