Southeast Texas is experiencing rapid growth in both population and industry. The Entergy Texas service territory includes areas with toptier residential growth and others seeing major industrial expansion. This growth is creating economic opportunities for the region, but it also is creating a need for more power…and soon.
Entergy Texas has recently completed new power plants, but while these have helped, they’re not enough to cover future needs. Based on the latest projections, Entergy Texas will need a 40% increase in power capacity by 2028. That’s why Entergy Texas has introduced its most comprehensive power plan ever: the Southeast Texas Energy Plan, also known as our STEP Ahead plan.
This initiative aims to meet our area’s power needs by utilizing a mix of traditional and renewable energy sources. The plan also includes upgrades to the transmission infrastructure and enhancements to ensure the grid can withstand extreme weather, all while keeping rates a ordable for customers. The only thing that can stop the growth and prosperity of Southeast Texas would be a power company that was unprepared.
