Welcome Back It is always special to welcome back returning and new boarders, many with their parents, for the start of another academic year.

The first morning and Miller House were ready and raring to go! Wonderful to have a busy and excited boarding house for the start of term.

Induction Week

We’re a Knockout!

What a fantastic first week of induction for our boarding community. The highlights included, Saturday night boarding bingo where they had to spin the wheel to win a prize and a trip to Leeds.

In September, we welcomed the ‘We’re a Knockout’ team into school to deliver a fantastic day of team building and fun for our boarding community. Great fun and an ideal way to bond with new friends. Watch some of the action from the day here.

Senior Netball Tour — South Africa Leeds Lights 2023 Our boarders had a fabulous evening at Light Night Leeds. There were light displays across the city and many buildings were lit up with colourful projected images. Not only was it beautiful to look at, some of our A-level media students will be able to use it in their coursework and exams.

Some of our boarders joined the rest of the senior netball teams for an unforgettable tour to South Africa during the summer. As well as some competitive and exhilarating netball, they delved into the South African culture, visiting a local cultural village, surfing in Cape Town and a thrilling safari experience. This tour was more than just netball, it was also an exploration of South Africa's beauty and diversity.

Intra House Fun

Fencing Experience

The return of the weekly intrahouse Red v Green competition has been warmly welcomed in Brodwell! It has been fantastic to see the whole house taking part and competing, with lots of laughter throughout. The teams are competing to win the coveted Cadman Cup - the red team currently lead by 330 points to 320 points.

Great to welcome new boarding students with previous experience in fencing. In September, we hosted our first team fencing tournament with four schools from across Yorkshire attending. Woodhouse Grove teams represented Years 8, 10, and 11, and secured two bronze medals and a silver.

Rugby League in Yorkshire Some of our boarders went to watch local rugby league team, Leeds Rhinos and were treated to an emphatic 46-0 win against Castleford Tigers!

Bowling Night Just a regular Saturday night in boarding going bowling in Leeds. This highlights just how special boarding is; spending every weekend doing lovely things with friends.
