A Hint of Snow White

Huge congratulations to Year 3 and 4 on two outstanding performances in The McCarthy Theatre last weekend. Such confidence and enthusiasm on show for Performing Arts from our children! Thank you to the staff who made this such a great performance and whose who attended .

Reception have been making Easter chocolate crispy Year 2 have been measuring in centimetres and buns. They enjoyed mixing all the ingredients and metres this week and comparing the length of adding a little chick to the top. They tasted really objects. good!

On St Patricks Day this term, Year 2 told us all Reception and Lower School thoroughly enjoyed about the work of St Patrick and explained why taking part in Wild Workshops this term. They 17th March is such an important event for Irish carefully explored earth from the woodland floor people around the world. and found snails, slugs, woodlice, millipedes and centipedes which they looked at closely through magnifying equipment. They learnt how sharp a fox's teeth are and enjoyed seeing lots of close up images of skulls and bones via the digital Year 3 enjoyed presenting their science posters on microscope. In their Earth Art lesson, Year 2 took their learning outside to make stick sculptures using plasticine, sticks and wool.

Year 2 have been busy this week making Easter cards for their families.

This term we held our annual Year 3 and 4 House Netball event, with results as follows: 1st Ingleborough, 2nd Buckden Pike, 3rd Whernside, 4th Pen-y-ghent. Well done to all who participated!

In humanities, Year 5 have been comparing the way Our Year 6 Neurodivesity Ambassadors led an in which children spend their leisure time in assembly last week on what it means to be Victorian times compared to today. The children neurodiverse. Here at Brontë House, we celebrate had fun playing a variety of traditional Victorian our unique strengths and differences and we are parlour games including: 'Twenty Questions', kind, tolerant and accepting of others.

In their humanities lessons, Year 6 have been To conclude this half term’s Co-curricular Knitwits learning about floodplains. This week, they became Club, our talented team have completed their town planners. Our Year 6 children enjoyed a visit from the Grove’s Modern Foreign Languages Roadshow this week.

Led by 6th Form students, the children had the opportunity to play a variety of games to reinforce their work in French.

The Brontë swim team have enjoyed a fantastic season! Their dedication and commitment in training is a credit to them and their team spirit is a true reflection of our Grovian values. They have had a busy schedule competing in 10 extremely competitive galas and we are delighted to say they are undefeated! Our huge congratulations to all swimmers; we are very proud. Work has begun for Reception!

We are delighted to share with you that works on the new Reception have begun. Over the Easter holidays a designated washroom facility is being built for the new Reception area. The outdoor playground is being fitted in August, some of which is being funded by our fantastic parents association such as play huts and mud kitchens!
