Woodford International School

Welcome back!

As week 7 finally comes to an end, I’m happy to announce that there are new members of the Drum! If you see new names, those are the newcomers of the school newspaper

Thank you for reading!

The assembly kicked off with a fun fashion show, where a few students walked the stage wearing everything from traditional Pacifica clothing to creative, modern twists on island style. It was a chance for everyone to show off their culture and have some fun with their outfits. The runway was full of laughter and cheers as each participant displayed their unique look

Next up was a PowerPoint quiz, where teams tested their knowledge about the Pacific Islands. The quiz covered everything from geography to famous Pacifica figures, and the students got really competitive, trying to answer questions as fast as they could.

The final event of the day was the “Guess the Amount of Candy” game. A small container filled with candy was taken around to classes and each class put in their guesses on how many candies were inside. The winner - who happened to be Mr. Alex, our secondary principal - walked away with the prize, earning laughs from everyone at the irony of none of the students

Book-week!

One of Woodford’s annual events: Book week! And this year, the theme was to celebrate the enchanting ability of stories to transport minds!

With classes choosing different books from fairy tales like ‘Alice in wonderland, and snow white to thrilling mystery novels and other classics.

Students brought their chosen stories to life through creative and exciting decorations, turning the classrooms and school into a work of art. The program started off with year 4 students presenting and reading their book for the entire school community.

in which all classes from kindergarten to year 12 walked around the school hall with their props and beautiful colorful costumes, representing the stories they have chosen.

As the assembly came to an end, students returned to their classrooms

Later that morning, the primary, middle and high school students had an amazing opportunity to visit different classrooms and were amazed by the effort they had put into creating beautifully decorated artwork and creative displays that showcased each class’s book.

Thank you to all that participated!

There’s a puppy?

Recently our students have been going crazy with excitement due to the news

In the office, there was a cute puppy in the office building. The story?

The pup was found wandering around the school premises days prior and has been looked after by the office staff, stealing the hearts of the students who pass by the office with curiosity.

However, there is the idea of having the puppy become Woodford’s official emotional support dog, but it was postponed for the peoples opinions on whether or not it was a good plan.

The puppy is yet to be named, so please give your thoughts on the Support Pup idea and maybe a few suggested names for her
