The right fit

Year groups small enough to ensure every child gets individual education and support, and large enough to include variety and breadth of opinion to challenge and stimulate debate. We take equal opportunities very seriously.

We are proud to acknowledge and celebrate our student’s unique characteristics, cultures and backgrounds. Student, staff and our Diversity Champions work together to explore how we may improve the visibility of every member of the school community, resulting in a diverse range of activities and events. These include our ‘We are WGS week’ and ‘Big Conversations’ with guest speakers.

Wolverhampton Grammar School is an inclusive and inspiring community built on individuality, respect, equity and kindness.

How we use technology

Wolverhampton Grammar School is at the forefront in its use of technology across every aspect of school life –from the classroom, to pastoral support; teaching and learning to support services; reading for pleasure and parent and student communications.

Many schools still avoid digital technology. Now more than ever, your child exists in a world that requires everyone to be in sync with the technology that surrounds them. As parents and educators, it's our responsibility to ensure our children are as prepared as they can be for the digital world ahead of them. The skills and confidence your child will develop here will set them apart in adult life.

All children in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 have a school iPad with a stylus Apple Pencil to set the standard for drawing, note-taking and marking up documents. Students can choose to record their work using the stylus, typing on the iPad or by writing in their universal exercise book or subject books – whatever works best for them. Work is recorded online – ensuring no lost learning.
