Following the challenging circumstances of 2020, it was important for us as councils to offer an opportunity for our community to be able to enjoy entertainment, connect with each other and be exposed to new experiences. It was important for such a significant event to be able to deliver, whatever the pandemic might throw at us. And as such, this year’s festival looks very different to the inaugural event held last year, just days before COVID-19 hit home. So we encourage you to get out where you can, to settle in with family and friends and connect online but, most importantly, be ready to be creative, connected and curious and immerse yourself in everything this year’s Upstream festival has on offer. And remember to continue to support the wonderful arts and culture sector we have right here on the Border and the amazing opportunities and experiences they offer all-year round.
