Albury is surrounded by beautiful countryside and wildlife and this mural is a dedication to all the people who have cared for the land for thousands of years and continue to do so. From First Nations Wiradjuri people who cared for the land pre- and post-colonisation and the farmer of today who works in regeneration and landcare, this mural is for the land and its carers. THE ARTIST Chris Henderson aka SIRHC (Chris spelt backwards) grew up in Eldorado in North East Victoria where he developed his deep love and passion for wildlife. SIRHC attended a local high school then on to TAFE to study graphic design in Wangaratta. After that he moved to Melbourne to kickstart his art career. In Melbourne he was able to experiment and develop his style into something totally unique. His style is very Australian but exciting, bright and bold and holds its own amid the Australian emerging contemporary art scene. SIRHC’s deep fascination for Australian wildlife and the weird shapes created in the human form has contributed greatly to his process and inspiration.
