Shannon Heffernan
“My pathway to nursing began when I completed Certificate III in Individual Support, I then commenced the Leisure and Health certificate and progressed to completing the Diploma of Nursing.
The Diploma of Nursing has given me the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to feel confident entering the Healthcare workforce with Albury Wodonga Health as a Graduate Enrolled Nurse. I will continue to work as an Enrolled Nurse while studying the Bachelor of Nursing with La Trobe University.
Wodonga TAFE shares the La Trobe University Library and librarian resources, which were invaluable in developing my academic skills. I have also been able to use the Skills and Job Centre to gain advice about my career pathway. I feel confident about my transition from Diploma to Bachelor of Nursing because the educators have assisted me with a smooth transition in academic skills.”
Credit arrangements differ between universities. Check the university’s website or phone the university to confirm the course you want to study and for specific details about the credits available to you. You also need to confirm with the university about how you apply for your undergraduate degree and how possible credits from your Certificate IV, Diploma and/or Advanced Diploma apply to that degree course. Contact our Education Pathways Officer to discuss your options and gain up-to-date advice and information.
Please note that all Wodonga TAFE courses run subject to minimum enrolments. This includes degree courses that are provided in association with our university partners.
