Music, food, family bring Bowling Green residents together at BG Fiestaval

Bowling Green’s Hispanic community showcased what it has to offer over the weekend, as people enjoyed food and music at the BG Fiestaval.

The Fiestaval, which began nine years ago, is a Biannual event held in May and September. Dances inspired by Aztec tradition, music, piñatas and plenty of food welcomed people of all ages from Sept. 12-14 on Clay Street.

Rather than baseballs and hot dogs, the Bowling Green Ballpark was full of beads and solidarity on Sept. 14 in support of the Out of the Darkness Walk.

The walk, one of eight across Kentucky, aims to raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). This nationwide organization spreads awareness on mental health struggles, especially during September, which is National Suicide Prevention Month.

WKU Volleyball sweeps ETSU Tournament

WKU Volleyball took the ETSU Tournament with a three-game sweep.

The Hilltoppers opened the weekend with a sweep against High Point and followed it with a sweep against tournament host ETSU.

The team completed the weekend with a sweep against VCU.
