EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE EXCELLENCE AWARDS

Minkie Kente, Senior Administrator, School of Clinical Medicine

I’ve worked with Minkie in GEMP I and II space, as a Logistics Officer. She is highly organised and ensures that all is in order. She always knew how to negotiate in such a way that everyone wins.

Minkie is very hardworking and dedicated to her job. She tries very hard to always deliver on any mandate she is even. She is very pleasant to work with and is always willing to assist others. The administrators from the clinical departments always go to her for assistance and she assists them cheerfully with no complaints.

During stressful exam times, she works tirelessly and she does not leave until the work is done. If she cannot finish, she takes the work home. Results are always delivered on time, even if she has to work throughout the night.

Her peers shower her with praise for good leadership skills and being supportive and dependable. She is very approachable and courageous. She is the glue that sticks the GEMP III and IV space together. She has shown that she is determined to bring social change hence her position in structures that are facilitating this attribute. She is a member of the School and Faculty of Health Sciences Transformation Committees.

She is also the branch executive committee member, PAS representative for the University Senate and the PAS representative for the University Forum.
