Hypertufa Garden Pottery

You can make your own garden planters! And do it really inexpensively, too. If you liked mud pies as a kid, you will love making Hypertufa pottery. Hypertufa is a lightweight concrete that you can easily form into planters, birdbaths, stepping stones, even sculpted statues. We will go over the basic recipe and techniques for making pots and planters. You will create and take home your own garden project. 1 Meeting. Learn how to grow almost anything indoors. We will discuss starting plants, how to buy plants, control of pests and other issues. Learn how to set up your own indoor system, including lights, for success with both common and exotic plants. Brighten your home, fight SAD, and grow just about anything year round. Dinner & Dialog: What Might be for Dinner? A special free event at Union South. Join us for our second event in the second year of the Dinner & Dialog series. Through a facilitated two-night dialog we will explore a variety of possibilities for future food policies. Our menu will explore the range from healthy food to food safety, reducing worldwide hunger to locally sourced sustainable agriculture. Explore this list of possibilities for the future of our food via a facilitated dialog designed to explore, further develop, and consider the implications of each possible change. We will also take time to reflect on how this discussion worked for us and how we might engage in our own quality public policy deliberation/ dialog. This FREE event includes dinner each evening.
