Winston Preparatory School is a leading school network for students with learning differences, including dyslexia, executive functioning difficulties (ADHD), and nonverbal learning disorders (NVLD). Our nationally recognized model serves students through grade 12, along with offering Winston Transitions, a multi-faceted gap year program for students who are not yet ready for college or the workplace. Winston in College provides academic support services for college students enrolled in any higher education program.

Our campuses are located in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and California, in addition to Winston Online, our fully online school, accessible anywhere nationally.

Winston Prep’s Continuous Feedback System (CFS) was designed to gain a deeper understanding of our students, facilitating independence through continual assessment, remediation, and analysis of a student’s response to their individualized program. A key part of CFS is our teachers’ focus on each student’s ability to reflect, understand and internalize the skills practiced each day, leading to independence that results in outcomes such as 80% of our graduates attending college.

Winston Prep’s Focus program is as important as Math, History, Literature, or Writing. Every student spends daily 45-minute one-to-one sessions with their own Focus teacher. Focus teachers are in continual conversation with their student’s teaching team, family, and outside professionals where warranted.

Focus teachers work one-to-one with each student daily

Focus teachers are mentors, motivators, and specialists who are committed to finding each child’s path to learning. Parents are provided a window into their child’s school day and Winston Prep experience. Focus teachers communicate with families at least weekly, allowing for an ongoing dialogue regarding their child’s skill development in both academic and social-emotional realms. Families utilize their child’s Focus teacher as their main contact for communication.

Self-Understanding

Your child can learn. Your child just learns differently.

It is that simple. And that complex. At Winston Prep, we understand that everyone acquires knowledge differently, in different ways and at different speeds.

At Winston Prep, we challenge ourselves each day, to focus on your child and the way he or she learns. Your child will discover a place where teachers understand. A place where teachers make sense. A place where everyone listens.

A place where everyone learns.
