From the Director Welcome Friends of Windrush, It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all this evening as we celebrate the amazing connections between: Windrush’s horses, the environment, our clients, their families, our staff, our volunteers and all those who take part to make this all possible. It is through the tremendous support from our community and many friends that we are able to build and strengthen our programs. It is you who helped us secure a permanent home and you who help us make a daily impact on our clients’ lives. It is your generosity that enables Windrush to continue with its mission of changing lives. It is your support that makes a lasting impact. We would love to have you join us at the farm for a visit and tour. If you have not had the opportunity to see the program in action and your gifts at work, I invite you to do so. Our clients are inspirational and love to share their achievements! Thank you for being a part of the festivities this evening as we celebrate the amazing relationships that develop and are continually nurtured, as they have been for over 50 years, through the programming here at Windrush Farm. We invite you all to invest in Windrush’s future and sincerely hope that you all have a wonderful evening. With great appreciation,

Amanda Hogan Executive Director

From the Board Greetings and Welcome! Thank you for joining us tonight to celebrate all things Windrush: what we do, whom we serve and how we do it. Your generosity and support in so many ways enables Windrush to continue to make differences daily in the lives of our clients and their families. Because of you, we successfully celebrated our 50th anniversary and are on our way to the next 50. Listening to you, it is crystal clear that we all share a common goal: to be absolutely sure that the Windrush program continues to serve those in need. Our programs have and will change as the needs of the Windrush community change and evolve. In order to achieve this common goal we need to make sure that each and every day we provide services in the most effective way in a safe and caring environment. We do this incredibly well, “in my humble opinion!, because of our talented and dedicated staff and volunteers. One of the truly wonderful things about the Windrush community is that many of us wear several hats: donor, sponsor, ambassador and volunteer. I think the reason for this incredibly deep involvement is the difference we are able to make in the lives of so many. This difference is not something that is remote and hard to see. Quite the contrary, it is evident every day. You make the miracle of Windrush happen. Thank you for your support. Enjoy the evening and come to the Farm for a visit!

The Ultimate Pairings Don O’Hagen is a Vietnam Veteran who has

been a part of Windrush Farm’s Horsemanship for Heroes program since it began in 2007. In addition to his own riding lessons on Judge, he also volunteers in other aspects of our therapeutic riding and horsemanship programs. One of his regular volunteering commitments is with Karl from Kimi Nichols Center, a day program in southern NH. Don side-walks with Karl, who also rides Judge, for an hour lesson and then rides Judge in his own hour long lesson right after. Don will tell you that Wednesdays are for Windrush! Karl, our resident cowboy, always looks forward to seeing Don and is sure to shake his hand in greeting before getting on Judge. Don, Karl, and Judge all have a special bond that is a pleasure to behold.

Rocky Tomascoff, an art teacher at Perkins

School, has been raising funds to bring her students to Windrush Farm for 31 years. She drives her students to Windrush every Thursday morning in the fall and spring sessions, and sometimes even rides with them as a lead rider! Rocky has her own horse experience and is an asset to her students who are able to work towards riding and navigating independently around the arena by following her voice. Her favorite horse to ride is Wanda, a 26 year-old Connemara mare who has been with Windrush for 14 years. One of Rocky's students this past Spring, Joey, rode Evan. Evan is a 15 year-old Connemara gelding, who is also Wanda's son! Evan has only been at Windrush for a little over a year, but has already proven to have inherited his mother's talent as a therapeutic riding horse. Evan has a great little pep to his step, which Joey loved. Joey would tell us that he and Evan were a good fit because, "He has ADHD just like me!"

Polo and Picnic Polo is arguably the oldest recorded team sport in known history, with the first matches being played in Persia over 2500 years ago. As mounted armies swept back and forth across that part of the world, conquering and re-conquering, polo was adopted as the most noble of pastimes by the Kings and Emperors, Shahs and Sultans, Khans and Caliphs. It was for this reason it became known across the lands as “the game of kings”. Be treated like royalty with this package. Four guests will be chauffeured in a black Navigator SUV to and from a Myopia Polo Game. At the game itself, you will receive a prime viewing location fit for a queen or king. And as all royals need to sit and eat, you will be provided with your own picnic blanket, basket, lunch and wine. A truly noble experience! Seeing as we know that watching a polo match is going to make you want to join in on this game of kings, you will receive 4 complimentary polo lessons (beginning or intermediate) from Stage Hill Polo. You too could be a Polo King or Queen. Notes: Four complimentary tickets for the 2016 Myopia Polo season before October 3, 2016. Prime seating location based upon availability. Round trip transportation is for a 4 hour period. The car will remain at Myopia for the duration of the match. Beyond 4 hours, the charge is $90/hr. Car must be booked 1 week in advance to guarantee availability. Donated by Myopia Polo, Andover Classic Wines, Rita’s Catering, Stage Hill Polo and the Windrush A-Team

Garde and Gourmet

This is your opportunity to make all of those sommeliers in your life jealous! With this package you have the opportunity to own some of the best of the best. The 1990 Cheval Blanc Bordeaux Red (valued at ~$1324.00 ) appears to be on a waiting list currently. It received 90 points from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate and a glowing review in 2006. “The wine possesses all the hallmarks of a hot, ripe year – low acidity, super-ripe, nearly overripe fruit, an opulent, oily texture, great sweetness of fruit, and a long, voluptuously-textured finish. In the most recent tasting, I almost mistook it for Le Pin given its showboat-like nose of coconut, toasty new oak, and gobs of smoky, black curranty, and cherry fruit. The wine is full-bodied, rich, and concentrated, with layers of extract, and wellconcealed tannin. I am increasingly convinced that this is the most profound Cheval Blanc since the legendary 1982. Because of its fleshy, low-acid character, the wine can be drunk, but it is still youthful, with a deeper purple color than the more mature-looking 1989. It should offer exotic opulence for at least another 15-20 years. A compelling Cheval Blanc!” And why not pair a glass of “exotic opulence” with a magnificent assortment of both milk and dark chocolates from Harbor Sweets Dark Horse Chocolates English and Hunt collections. It will be hard to pick your favorite from these 32 pieces of unfoiled chocolates. Donated by a Friend of Windrush Farm and Harbor Sweets

6 Romance and Richness Cuddle up with a loved one for an evening of romance and decadence with this exceptional bottle of 1989 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac and Gold Four Tier Cube of Dark Horse Chocolate. In our research, it appears that one cannot currently purchase a bottle of this wine; there is a waiting list. This ~$749 medium bodied wine received 90 points from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate and 97 points from James. In 2013 James stated, “It’s a wine with a character of cloves and berries with hints of plums. It shows loads of potpourri. Roses too. Full and so balanced. Tight and youthful. The winemaker at Lafite says that when he wants to show someone a perfect example of Pauillac this is the Lafite he pours. Maybe he is right?” And no romantic evening is complete without chocolate. This distinctive box contains four tiers of the Harbor Sweets Dark Chocolate English, Milk Chocolate Hunt Collection and Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Sea Biscuits. A complete Dark Horse Chocolates indulgence! Donated by A Friend of Windrush and Harbor Sweets

7 Simmer and Sip Have you ever dreamed of being a gourmet chef and whipping up one of those meals you see being prepared on the cooking channel? Or are you still trying to master boiling water? Either way, this package is for you. Have fun, learn and dine with your friends in an amazing four hour cooking class with Lila Haynes of Heaven on Earth Cooking Studio in Boxford. Six of you can participate in this incredible and delectable experience. You can bustle about prepping and pan reducing or simply sit back, sip your wine and enjoy the demonstration. And of course no meal is complete without the right wine. Work with the experienced sommeliers at Andover Classic Wines and use your $50 gift certificate to select the wines that will best compliment the planned menu. It is guaranteed to be a night to remember. Donated by Lila Haynes and Andover Classic Wines

As you weave down narrow streets you’ll be privy to secret specialties and ingredients from the best salumerias (delis) to the most tantalizing pastries. This delightful afternoon then concludes at Capital Grille. Enjoy a sumptuous dinner at this fine dining restaurant with a $200 gift card. And of course, you can attempt to recreate this experience later with your very own set of four Capital Grille steak knives. Dontaed by Michele Topor, Inc. and Capital Grille
