About Windrush Farm At Windrush, our goal is to help people with a broad range and combination of disabilities to excel. Partnering with the horse, Windrush’s programs are designed to encourage, challenge, and motivate our clients. As one of the first therapeutic riding centers in the United States, and a premier accredited PATH Intl. facility offering the highest level of therapeutic horsemanship, Windrush uniquely understands the needs and requirements of our clients. Through a dedicated staff, a devoted team of volunteers, a diverse curriculum, and carefully selected and trained horses, we inspire those we serve to showcase their abilities and realize they are capable of more than they think. Each year Windrush Farm provides effective, innovative, equine-assisted activities and therapies as well as educational services to more than 2,081 children and adults and their families, including: Therapeutic Riding, Hippotherapy, Horsemanship for Heroes, Interactive Vaulting, Equine-Facilitated Learning, Carriage-Driving Experiences, Vocational Programs, Equine-Learning Programs, Barn Buddies, Volunteer Programs. Windrush Farm has a staff of 20 and in FY15 engaged with almost 500 volunteers.

Finances Revenue for fiscal year 2015 at $1.3m is derived from individual contributions, grants, corporate sponsorships and service revenue. The clients of Windrush Farm depend on the generosity of those contributing to the program as 75% of revenue received is directly from gifts. For every dollar spent, $0.76 goes directly to the program, $0.06 for management and general and the remainder to our fund raising efforts.

Highlights Primary Disabilities of Therapeutic Clients

Celebrated our 50th anniversary. Collaborated with the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital: clients participated as part of Spaulding’s adaptive sports program. Acted as a host site for corporate volunteering days as part of each company’s annual volunteering program. Partnered with the Perkins School for the Blind for the 31st year of Perkins’ participation in the therapeutic riding program and also offered five Perkins students a vocational program throughout the summer. Collaborated with YouthBuild Lawrence and North Shore in the construction of our new Sensory Forest and Veterans Extreme Obstacle Course. Hosted Massachusetts Special Olympics Equestrian event since 1982.
