Don was a longtime owner of Windermere Real Estate/East, Inc. He was a great mentor, leader and friend to many in the Windermere family. His contribution to Windermere’s culture is unmatched. Don was an amazingly hard worker, who set the bar high for everyone around him. To help move business forward he’d educate first, then cajole, then use his laser-beam glare and sly smile to get everyone on what he thought was the best course.
After starting Windermere East in tough economic times (when interest rates were in the 18 percent range), under Don’s guidance it ultimately grew to seven offices in premier locations throughout the Eastside.
Don’s children have followed in his footsteps as innovators and leaders, keeping the flame lit on one of Windermere’s longest standing, and highly successful group of offices.
Don Deasy was raised in Quincy, Washington and strongly believed in giving opportunities to youth from his hometown. Each year the Don Deasy Memorial Leadership 1000 Scholarship Fund provides for deserving students graduating from Quincy High School with plans to attend the University of Washington. A portion of the proceeds from this event benefit this worthy cause.
John was an industry leader in real estate law for over 30 years. He played a critical role in crafting Washington state policy and law concerning real estate brokers, including his role on the state-wide task force that resulted in the Agency Statute (Chapter 18.86 RCW).
John founded Demco Law Firm, P.S. and he and the lawyers at his firm have represented Windermere owners and brokers for nearly three decades. John also owned a few Windermere franchises with his close friends Steve and April Kieburtz.
Most importantly, John was a friend to virtually all who knew him.
Terry was one of Windermere’s original office owners, and he did a lot to help shape the face of our company. Terry opened Windermere Wall Street with a credit line of $100, a lot of faith, and a dogged determination to hire extraordinary people. Terry was consumed with the idea that Windermere should be the very best, and he did everything in his power to make it that way.
One of the striking things about Terry was the compassion he had for every person around him. He got to know all of his agents, and cared for them personally and professionally. That helped him grow his company to five jewels in the Seattle real estate landscape. That’s a long way on a mere $100 line of credit.
When John Jacobi purchased Windermere in 1972, Vince was part of the deal. He taught the “young guy” a few things about real estate, and they forged a life-long friendship and business partnership.
Vince went on to be the designated broker for all six Windermere Real Estate Company offices. He also ran the bridge loan and other programs for the company overall. What made him special was his constant friendship and unflappable patience.
He regularly hosted 5 p.m. wine gatherings in his office where agents could yap away while he fielded phone calls left and right. He was very fair. There were no favorites or favors. He held agents accountable, but he was there behind them all the way.
The Annual Windermere Legends Golf Tournament would never have been possible without its driving force, Don Riley. His dedication to honoring the memory of his colleagues was the engine behind what made the tournament grow and thrive for nearly 20 years.
Don enjoyed a real estate career that spanned over 35 years. He started as an agent and worked his way up to become CEO of CW Title and Escrow. Over the years, he was a teacher, mentor and friend to many in the real estate industry. Don loved people and his relationship with them gave him life.
Don’s belief in the mission of these charities was central to his commitment to this Tournament. Now it’s our turn to honor Don for all that he offered to the success of this great event.
Wally was a good business man. There was no doubt of that. But his passion was the great outdoors. After he graduated from the University of Puget Sound, he went to Sun Valley for a weekend for some fishing and fresh mountain air. That weekend turned into seven years and is where he was introduced to his real estate career.
After moving back to his home town of Tacoma, he nurtured several Windermere branches into a network of offices serving much of Pierce County. Wally was a teacher and mentor to many over his career.
He kept life in balance with his love for the outdoors, boating with his family, and fishing and bird hunting with his son and friends.
Dick began his career in real estate with Advance Properties, eventually becoming the company’s general manager. In 1986, on a giant leap of faith and with John Jacobi’s endorsement, he joined Windermere Real Estate and opened their second Snohomish County office in 1987.
He always saw in people the best they had to offer, and with that attitude helped hundreds of agents channel their talents into thriving real estate careers. His ability to put people at ease, light up a room and tell a dirty joke was unmatched! He was a generous man that was dedicated to raising the bar within the real estate industry.
Dick spread his passion across the Windermere family and real estate community with vigor, zest, and an endless smile.
This year marks the 21st Annual Windermere Legends Golf Tournament and hopefully our most successful yet. Your support directly benefits the Windermere Foundation and the Don Deasy Memorial Leadership 1000 Scholarship Fund, two extremely deserving causes with the mission to create pathways for youth in Washington.
The Windermere Foundation was created in 1989 by Windermere Real Estate to raise and provide funds to assistance programs for low income and homeless families within the Windermere network. To date the Windermere Foundation has raised over $57 million to support programs that provide shelter, food, children’s services, and emergency assistance for families in need.

On behalf of the Windermere Legends Golf Tournament and the charities it supports, we would like to personally thank you for being a part of today.
This event is personal for so many of us. Every year we watch the money raised for the Foundation top the previous year. To date, this tournament has given over $500,000 to programs that provide shelter, clothing and emergency services for families in need.
We truly appreciate our golfers and sponsors, who both play a key role in making this event happen.
Thank you for participating in the 2025 Legends Golf Tournament. We hope you enjoy your day.
