Support Hercules Foundation

I am Alex Fetterman, one of the founders of The Hercules Foundation, which was established in 2016 in memory of Sgt. Ryan

M. “Hercules” Lindenbaum of the Fairfax County Police Department. Ryan was a lifelong friend of mine who tragically passed away from brain cancer. He was a hero in every sense of the word, and we wanted to honor his legacy by creating an organization that would provide financial assistance to local law enforcement officers in need.

The majority of our fundraising comes from our annual golf tournament, The Hercules Classic, which is held each May. This year, the tournament will be held on May 19th, 2023 at the Pleasant Valley Golf Club in Chantilly, VA. This event is our primary fundraiser for the year and always sells out quickly. The funds raised through our organization are used to directly support local law enforcement officers and their families. We make lump sum payments to the families of fallen police officers to help with their financial needs, award $1,000 to the recipient of the Fairfax County Police Association Officer of the Year, assist families in the law enforcement community who have been unexpectedly struck by tragedy and are in need of immediate assistance, and spread holiday cheer through our “Adopt-A-Cop” program.

Being able to experience the joy and appreciation shown by the local police officers that we support is truly heartwarming. Since 2018, my family and I have been fortunate enough to live in a community that embodies the same spirit of heroism and selflessness that we strive to support through The Hercules Foundation. The ability to be surrounded by nature, wildlife, and a sky full of stars, while also being on a street where our kids can safely play with friends and experience the joys of living in a neighborhood.

My wife volunteers at all of our fundraising events, and our three kids, ages 9, 6, and 3, love wearing their Hercules Foundation t-shirts with our lion logo, acting as our own little cheerleaders. We are grateful for any support that we receive, whether it’s through donations at herculesfoundation.org, volunteering, or simply spreading the word about our cause.
