You finally close your eyes to rest and before you know it the 5 am alarm clock is going off in your dream and all you can think is, “it can’t be morning already!” You attempt to hit snooze several times before you drag yourself out of bed because let’s face it; your “new year-new you”, quit about 30 days ago. Yup, she just rolled out on you. So there has been no workout routine, no healthy eating and you’ve been so stressed, you have tossed back more glasses of wine than your waistline can handle!

It’s now 6:45 am, the bus will be here and so will your first meeting if you don’t hurry up and get to the office early enough to get all the work done you fell asleep doing the night before … even if that office is right downstairs! The day breezes by but not without a call from the school that child #2 needs to be picked up due to a tummy ache. So you

Put your child’s care in our hands.

rush out, skip lunch and again before you know it the day is over. You’ve managed to complete 50% of your tasks because we both know that work was pretty much over when you had to pick up your little one. You get home and the evening goes just like the morning. After school activities, one last business call, practices and unfinished work. Everyone needs something from you meanwhile no one has realized you have very little left to give.

As a mom of 4 girls, in 4 different age ranges from early childhood to young adulthood; I have had to learn the importance of self-care. I am a business owner (Granger Financial), an executive life coach, a mom, and a wife. Needless to say, I am always “mommin’ in the middle!” In the middle of work, zoom calls, work events, cooking, cleaning, conferencing, and even pottying (iykyk). You name it and you better believe this mama is juggling at least 5 things at once. So, this past January I decided that 2023 was for me. I realized that if I was going to be a great boss, a better wife, mother and friend then I needed to find more time to put myself first. I needed more girlfriend time, more “no kids” time, more quiet time and more ME time! And that is exactly what I did!

If you’re like me and your battery remains on 25% more than 100% it’s time you do the same. Whether it’s a quick 2-day staycation in Middleburg on your own mini “eat, pray, love journey” or picking up a new yoga class and meditation course. Or maybe for you, it’s signing up for a 10K or a girls’ night out shopping with dinner and laughter at your favorite local winery. Whatever it is, don’t let YOU lose YOU in 2023! This is your year, your time and your moment to be the very best version of yourself! Go for it and do it for the girl who fought so hard for you to be where you are today!
