DISTRICT CONVENTION
ANTHONY MARIN
This April we had the amazing opportunity to attend DCON which is our district convention! It was a 3 day event where we went on over to Ontario, California and stayed in a hotel. It was such a cool event to attend as we went to a lot of educational sessions here we learned more about key club and certain things about positions and there were even some funny ones like how to rizz people up. My favorite part for sure though was when a guest speaker went up and spoke to us about his life. His story made me shed a few tears as I understood where he was coming from and although I’ve never been in the situations he’s been in, I feel like I connected to him because of our similar backgrounds. I also walked around carrying a video recorder so I have a lot of footage of the event! It was such a fun event and Itwas such a heartwarming way to end the term. I hope next year we can attend it again in Sacramento!

WHAT’S POPPIN’ OTTERS?!
Did you miss me?!
My name is Kathleen Nguyen, and I am your immediate past president of Westminster Key Club, if you did not get the pleasure of knowing me :( Nowadays, I am a student at UCLA, grinding away!
Key Club was a big contribution to my academic success. I joined Key Club when I was a freshman in high school, and immediately felt like I found my community. I am so glad I decided to stay and rise through the ranks until my senior year because I never lost my passion for the club. From serving as vice president, the person who would bug you for articles and visuals, to president, representing Key Club as a whole, I L-O-V-E Key Club!
To my otters who are feeling down, know that you have other fellow otters that are there for you—including me! Even during rough times, Key Club board and general members were always there for me. The people within Key Club have proven to uphold the organization’s core values, and make me believe in good people.
